Datsuryoku-kei

Datsuryoku-kei (脱力系) is a style of comedy that best equates to ennui. Usually a derivative of slice-of-life it focuses on the realistic dialogue and facial reactions of the characters rather than the actions to convey comedy. An IRL show that best exemplify the style is The Office. It's not a popular comedy style in Western media so Japan's usage of it is fascinating. Some anime use datsuryoku-kei heavily (eg. Peeping Life), others only in part (eg. Thermae Romae). So the relations side bar is here to list them out just so that we can point and say "ah ha, yes, these are examples of this comedy style".
