If anime is a form of art, why should it be mostly focused on appeal to the way of thinking of the teenagers? It's not like a bad thing, because there're tons of good anime that was in the beggining created for that, but dont you miss mature scenes? 

Sex, Drugs, Political scheme, Knowledge, Tragedy, Jobs, Betrayal, Violence, Death...

The realistic emulation doesnt mean the realistic setting, we can talk about a fantasy world where its population behave just like we do. We cry, have bad days, smile...

Seinen is a genre wher it's usually describe tragedy, dark themes, gore or sex. Being adult is way more than that.
