It seemed that I joined this club right as it was getting buried in its grave, but alas activity has decided to shed way. I need to re-watch FLCL so I can bask in the eccentric rhomp of psychedelic awesomeness that creates Fooly Cooly as we know it. I've just had too much to do, and I've still got so many other series I plan to watch that it's overwhelming, really.

I personally believe that with a few well-deserved hours of attention you can completely grasp the meaning and plot behind this show in just one viewing. Although, a second run through would probably reveal more to your mind than met the eye before, and some people may need to re-watch it to grasp it at all. Subjective as it may be, FLCL will always have a place in my heart.

it was clear to me after a few days of thinking about it and using wikipedia and imdb to look up quotes and info on it....
not a fan of tv i have to pay attention to but its still entertaining

It's not that hard to get if you actually listen to what the characters are saying. I normally can at least see where people who criticize anime I like are coming from, but those who say FLCL is nonsense are simply not paying attention.

I agree with vizhmaster_vizhu
6 episodes is fine, FLCL is these 6 great episodes. cool music, funny characters, smart dialogues etc
but well, did you notice that its ratings here on mal are worsening?
i think people cannot appreciate it cause they don't try to understand it.
it's a gainax made anime after all. if you don't try to rewatch FLCL, then possibly you will call it random or meaningless.

It wasn't released on TV so the proper way of watching it is to pause, rewind, and rewatch. and it's something you should rewatch and rewatch and rewatch IMO. Each episode is 20 minutes of pure quality. That's a good thing.

I missed like half the dialogue because of the pacing, it was just too fast. And it was soo insane I couldn't get myself to rewatch

I disagree. Part of what made flcl great was the low episode count and the quality of them. Pacing was just right IMO.
