Daryl is more of a narcissist rather than a pessimist, and it's because no one ever cared about him, even his father. You saw how upset he was when he was completely alone for his birthday.

Tsugumi and Daryl match because they were both always alone; Tsugumi even mentioned it in the episode where they elected Shu as the SC president. Tsugumi is also the first person who shows kindness to Daryl, and Darly protects her from the Endlaves, without him, she'd most probably be dead.

No. Just no. Daryl x Tsugumi is a no. Tsugumi's light and cute character just wouldn't match Daryl's dark and pessimistic personality. They are foil and contrasted. The character of Tsugumi would much more match a kind-heated hero such as Shu, although he is already taken by Inori.
