Legend of Alerria (RP)

Information
EDIT:At least until further notice, most of the strategy section is taken out. Now you can simply post a discussion topic for a battle and decide the amount of soldiers in that battle and do strategy from there, but there isn't any movement on the map and having to wonder about reinforcements and all that stuff. If you see anything deal with that, you can ignore it for now. This is both a roleplay and a strategy game. To put it simply, you decide how your country will grow, who you wish to ally with, who you wish to declare war on, and so on. You're also in control over a hero; you write about the war from you heroes point of view as he or she fights for your territory's victory. Plot: The continent of Alerria is at war. It was once made up of a loose alliance of territories held together by a Grand King, ruling from the capital of Illedel, but the Grand King and all of his heirs have recently been assassinated by an unknown group. While there were ways to decide who the next heir would be, all negotiations failed and most of the territories could no longer trust each other. Whoever becomes the Grand King gets control over a legendary sword called Excalibur, so whichever country could gain control of the title Grand King, and thus the sword, would have tremendous power. It is this that everyone fights for; either for greed, self preservation, fame, or for many other reasons.

Click to view List of Countries

Beljlor Idarri Grifell The Four Princedoms Iresia

Playing the game This roleplay is split up into turns. Turn 0: Everyone chooses their starting location on the map and says how they want their territory to behave. Are they militaristic? Peaceful? What races inhabit your territory? Humans? A race you made up? You also say where you wish to invade (secretly to me if you wish). You can invade any adjacent territory. Asking for peace treaties can be secretly suggested to other members, or discussed out in the open as well. Turn 1-???: It starts with the movement phase. I'll have all territories move or invade based on how you said to at the end of the previous turn. These invasions/movements will be posted out in the open unless you have a good enough plan to hide your movements. If two armies collide, everyone involved enters a battle phase. This is where a discussion topic is posted and everyone with a hero in the battle writes about the battle from his/her point of view. You may also gives additional strategies for your team at various points. Some battles, if they are large enough or someone purposely has their forces stall, will go on to the next turn. Negotiations can be made with any group at any time during the turn. After all invasions/battles/movements are over with for the turn, it goes on to the build phase. It's basically damage control and recruiting more troops (more about this will be explained soon). The strategy phase can take place during this time, where you say how you want your forces to behave/invade/whatever at the start of next turn. The over-all flow of the battles will be written by me. I will post what all the forces are doing (based on what you guys wanted them to do) and say the results of the actions (which you can debate me on if you think your forces were treated unfairly). Your characters can get huge kill counts in your writing, but I'll limit their actual influence if you go overboard. That way you don't have to worry about someone killing off too many of your soldiers. Building up your territory During the build phase, you can do a few things. 1. Recruit more troops. The recruitment chart will be posted below.
Recruitment Chart: The following percentages show what it would take to hire 1 person of a certain power level. Each territory gives you 100%, so if someone takes 0.1% to hire, they use up 0.1% of that territories recruitment that turn. The estimated amount is how many of that power level you could get from a single territory (if that power level was the only one you recruited). Besides this, everyone starts with a one time bonus of 500%. Power Level---Percentage---Estimated amount -------1------------0.05%-------------2000 (exact) -------2------------0.06%-------------1670 -------3------------0.07%-------------1420 -------4------------0.08%-------------1250 (exact) -------5------------0.09%-------------1100 -------6------------0.10%-------------1000 (exact) -------7------------0.20%-------------500 (exact) -------8------------0.30%-------------330 -------9------------0.40%-------------250 (exact) ------10------------0.50%-------------200 (exact) ---Hero (12)----(Can't buy)----------50* (The exact amount is 3, but this number is for seeing how many they can fight. For example, 50 of them are equal to 200 level 10's. Therefore, each hero individually can take on 4 level 10's at once in a fair fight. Obviously, if you are the side without the hero, you would send more then 4 level 10's at a time to fight him or her, or an even larger amount of weaker people)
2. You can chose where to build up fortifications. Your people automatically build up your infrastructure, but you can chose where to put the most effort. While they normally spread things out evenly, you can have them focus on certain areas, or put all their resources onto building some massive castle, for example. If you wish to limit the amount of building, you can say to put the focus more from building and more on troops recruiting for that turn. This could give you an extra 100 troops per territory. Now if your buildings were under attack in a recent invasion, said buildings would be left damaged. One thing worth mentioning is ship building. You can also have them build ships, which will take away from their focus of building other types of things. Winning You need to conquer at least 25 territories, including Illedel, and then be able to keep control of Illedel for 3 turns. Illedel will have super powerful soldiers, some as powerful as heroes, so you wouldn't want to invade there first unless you have a death wish.

1. Magic can be used by most races, but most people can't use magic. The amount varies between races, but only about 10% of humans can use it (This is about the average). 2. Magic is mainly limited by your imagination and the amount of energy it would take to cast the spell. The more powerful a spell is, the more energy it would take to use it. When you give your strategies for the battle, saying what spells you'd like them to be casting, at that moment I would tell you if those spells would take too much energy to use or not. 3. When you deploy your magic users in a fight, I will, if you don't give any specific orders for them, have them casting normal level magic (magic that won't totally exhaust them, but powerful enough to cause some damage). While that is the default, you can say specific spells that you want them to cast, tell them to save their strength for the more powerful opponents (down to specific targets to attack if you wish) or whatever else you can think of. You can even get detailed enough to have each specific magic user do something else, but that isn't a requirement. 4. Magic can also be used to forge special weapons/armor/equipment. You can say to equip certain soldiers with magical stuff, like swords that create gusts of wind with every swing, but such things should be rare. Most countries would have around 300 magical things to give out to their troops, although your country could have more or less at the cost of other areas.

The human race is the most common race located in Alerria. However, there are many more. You can create you own race, just give a healthy balance of strengths and weaknesses. I can create races that have more strengths then weaknesses, but that's because I'm the creator of this roleplay. I won't use such races unfairly. Each race will have it's own discussion topic. List of Races

Human (More to come. My storyline for this isn't the best, having been more for a game, so if you'd like I can make roleplays with far better storylines.

I don't know you, but I hope that post will help to begin "something" in this place...

Yes. For Ustdyn and Realindel, anyone can create information about them and place them in the countries area. The rest you should keep a general idea of what I posted in mind, although you can always feel free to add information too them. As for Faera, I have some ideas now that I'll post soon.

Question: Could we have threads for the NP Countries?

Important_Nobody | Sep 8, 2011 5:25 AM
Anyone can make a post of any area in the world (you can make it up) and post after the name of the area either "Location" or "Warzone". Location will just be your character and a small band of friends at best, while Warzone you will bring an army with you and other people can bring their own armies to fight. Being more based on story then trying to win, nobody should rush in with an army that outnumbers you 100 to 1 unless everyone agrees that it would be a cool battle.

For the other countries, you guys can come up with information about them if you want. If not, I'll just add in more information myself sometime.

I'm game :D
so.... how do we start? :)

Maybe have it where everyone still fights for their country and can control what it's like and stuff, but you don't have to worry about the exact placements, amount of soldiers, or any of the technical data. Such things would only be present for each battle that your character goes to, you can say how many enemy soldiers there are and how many are helping out or something, but you don't need to rely on any formula or anything when coming up with numbers. It's mainly just so we get a general feel of the battle. You also don't have to worry about enemy power levels, so you can have your army defeat larger or more powerful armies.
