Korn is a Nu Metal band from Bakersfield, California.

The band was put together piece by piece from other bands. James Shaffer, Reginald Arvizu, and David Silveria were in a band called L.A.P.D. But because of their singers drug addiction, the band couldn't continue. They then recruited Brian Welch and was going to make a new band called Creep.

In early 1993, James and Brian were in a local bar looking to recruit a lead singer for their band. When they were about to leave, they heard the band Sexart play with lead singer Jonathon Davis. They were very impressed with his vocals and was asked to play with his future bandmates. At there first jam together, the bandmates said "It was magic, it was like we have been playing together forever." Jonathon agreed to play and thats when Korn was born.
