Rinpei was a student at West Mammoth High School prior to becoming one of god's children. He was a reserve member on the football team, and is a good runner.
His catchphrase is "touchdown."
Sick of being on the sidelines, Rinpei offered to join Akashi and Ushimitsu for a round in the Seven x Seven Wonders trial. Recognizing Kai as a former classmate, he tries to persuade him into showing less aggression around Akashi and his friends, however, he is thrown into the mouth of the monster Kai's team was carrying around. Near death, Rinpei is saved by a daring Akashi, who lurches into the monsters mouth and pulls him out as the rest of the group looks on in wonder.
He later attempts to decapitate Sein Kami with a sword at the end of the trial's phase, but is instead killed himself, after Kami's head relocated itself.
