Anime Relations: Naruto, One Piece, Bleach
Naruto:
"O TEH NOES!!! WHEN WILL THE VIOLENCE AND KILLING IN THE NINJA WORLD STOP?!"

Me: It'll stop when ninjas are all dead. The entire fucking point of ninjas is to assassinate people, and to torture people, and to spy on people so that people can find out the weaknesses of other people so they can kill those people.

Bleach:
"Aha! I have you now!"
"Or so you thought! You're trapped!"
"On the contrary, YOU'RE the one trapped!"
"No, you're trapped within my spell that makes you think you trapped me trying to trap you!"
"That's what you think! But actually, you're under my spell that makes you think I'm under your spell that makes me think I trapped you trying to trap me!"
"Uhh... Bankai!"
"Wait, you still had another secret attack?! Shit, Kubo's gonna have a hard time pulling a superpower out of his ass that'll top yours. OH WAIT, I HAVE SUPER SAIYAN 2!!!"

Me: Umm... Why bother telling your opponent what your freaking power is? It only makes it easier for them to beat you, you retards.

One Piece:
Yaaaay, friendly pirates!

Me: Pirates? You're not pirates. You're disgraces to the name of pirates. Where is the looting, pillaging, murder and rape?!

It seems shounen "logic" follows this path:
"I'll use violence to prove to you that violence is wrong!!!"

Oh, the irony.

Anime Relations: Omamori Himari, Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu, Seikon no Qwaser, Durarara!!, Dance in the Vampire Bund, So Ra No Wo To, Aki-Sora, Ookami Kakushi, Ladies versus Butlers!
Welcome to another edition of 'Eddyak blogs about crap you don't care about'. This season's a bit of a letdown, with a tiny number of anime out compared to recent years.

On the plus side, though, there does seem to be a pretty high percentage (percentage, not amount) of good anime. Well, here I go:

First up is Aki-Sora!

Adapted from a manga that's barely worksafe enough not to be considered hentai, this one definitely seems to be worth a watch (and a fap) for quite a few people. The story's a little complex, what with each character either being insanely in love with someone who's in love with someone else, or an imposter, and confusion...ment in general.
Watching.

Baka to Test to Shokanju (Idiots and tests and summoned beings)

Hilarious. That's all I have to say here.
Based on a light novel, and with a manga adaptation as well, this is definitely promising.
Watching.

Dance in the Vampire Bund

Disappointing, the first few episodes have been. The original manga was a masterpiece- politics, action, betrayal... and then the guy went "Hey, you know what'd be fun? If you guys at SHAFT ignored the entire storyline I just drew up and just completely rewrote it!"
Pretty good idea... Bad execution.
Amnesia. Transformations. A vampire princess meant to be strong, wilful and intelligent was reduced to a damsel in distress. Pretty pathetic, tbh, SHAFT. If they don't get their act together, I might drop it entirely. Also, art and quality pretty disappointing.
Watching... for now.

Durarara!!

Now here is something I'm definitely seeing through to the end. From the creator of Baccano, and the same studio that brought us both Baccano and CANAAN comes a fast-paced, very enjoyable trip through the supernatural underside of Ikebukuro. A headless motorbike rider, a guy who chucks vending machines at people, a giant black guy selling russian sushi and a lot more.
I'm loving this one.
Watching. Definitely.

Ladies versus Butlers

A romance(?) ecchi comedy. Been done a thousand times before. But this time, it's fresh and original. Or seems that way, at least. I like this one. An oldschool touch to the artwork (think Strawberry Panic, Maria-sama ga Miteru- That kind of dulled colour they had).
Uh oh! I tripped and grabbed your breast! taken in about twelve different ways. During the first episode. It takes some guts to do that, even for the producers of Kanokon. This season's fanservice-y humour.
Watching. Please don't let them screw this one up.

Omamori Himari

Typical shounen fanservice-y crap, done for ratings alone. The manga was better.
Boy has supernatural powers he's not aware of. Catgirl demon is sent to protect him by demon slaying grandparents. Boy is allergic to cats. Hilarity ensues. Or not, as the case may be.
But at least the main's got some measure of personality and doesn't produce nosebleeds every time the catdemon/snakelolidemon/childhood friend rub their breasts up against him.
Again, shounen fanservice-y crap, done in a shounen fanservice-y crap way. Read the manga, don't watch this.
Watching doubtfully.

Ookamikakushi (Wolf God something or other, I think- It's a play on words or something)
EDIT: I've been informed it's more like Wolf Secret, not wolf god. Who knew.

Yet another supernatural murder mystery-type thingy from the creators of Higurashi and Umineko. I think. Not all that enjoyable, and not really a mystery. Pretty obvious what's going on. Not gonna spoil, so watch it if you want.
Watching... cos I don't have anything better to do.

Seikon no Qwaser (Qwaser of Stigma)

Typical ecchi fighting anime. With one difference. They drink breast milk to power themselves up.
Take a dash of warped, twisted religion, a dollop of laws-of-physics-bending chemistry, and add some loli, lesbian and bondage (mixing as necessary).
Not even bothering to watch til the DVDs come out, the level of censoring on this is fucking stupid. Why even bother to air the anime if you're gonna cut to fucking stillshots every time something remotely significant happens?!

Sora no Woto

Ask any random forumer on any anime-related website about this show, and you'll hear "Durrrr dis show sux, ir haet moeblob animu, dis'r a K-ON ripof. i haet K-ON"
Then ask someone who's actually watched the show, and they'll tell you it's lighthearted, colourful fun, set in the military, based on a group of girls.
It's reminiscent of K-ON, sure, what with one character being the reincarnation of Mugi, another looking a lot like Azusa, and the general lighthearted, warm feel of the anime- but that's pretty much where the similarities stop.

K-ON was an ordinary anime about ordinary schoolgirls setting up a music band. You're gonna find that whoever didn't like K-ON won't like any other anime/manga with that basic setup- Lucky Star, for example. "i dun wach animu 2 heer a banch of gurls tlakin bout food n shit" - But that's exactly what the anime's about! Normal girls, having fun. They knew what it was about, and now they're being stupid and expecting something different.

Anyway, enough ranting. Pretty nice show.
Watching.

---

I've probably missed out a few anime, but if I have, they're probably not worth watching. Tell me if I have, and I'll put up my opinions.

All opinions are up for debate. If you disagree, agree, or just plain don't care, drop me a message, I'm willing to debate or discuss. Enjoy your anime.

Anime Relations: Umineko no Naku Koro ni, Bakemonogatari, Ookami to Koushinryou II, Canaan, Yokuwakaru Gendaimahou, Kanamemo, Element Hunters, Fight Ippatsu! Juuden-Chan!!, Needless, Sora no Manimani, Umi Monogatari: Anata ga Ite Kureta Koto, Aoi Hana, Princess Lover!, Tokyo Magnitude 8.0, Zan Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei
What I'm watching this season (Summer 2009), and why:

CANAAN.

Made by Type-Moon. That's enough reason for me to watch it in the first place.
As if that wasn't enough, awesome action, likeable characters, great comedy and a seriously badass taxi driver, voiced by the ever-awesome Jouji Nakata. End.

Aoi Hana.

Iffy here. It seems to be pretty... what's the word for it... unique? Almost completely hand-drawn, with a nostalgic feel to it. Might drop it if the mood of the show doesn't lighten up a bit.

Fight Ippatsu! Juuden-Chan!!!

Lol is all I can say. Male baseball-bat wielding protagonist beats female giant-electric-plug wielding girl so bad she (literally) pees herself every time he raises his bat. Happens at least once an episode, as far as I've seen. Watching this for the sheer lulz of seeing him beat her. I don't enjoy domestic violence, but seeing this always puts a smile on my face.

Kanamemo.

Yuri couple. Lolis living together. Need I say more?
Pretty cheerful anime, funny at times, and looks to be a nice watch.

Princess Lover.

A harem protagonist with an actual personality? Has the anime world gone insane??? No, it's the debut of Princess Lover!
New harem anime. Four main girls, the OP hints, and a protagonist that isn't a walking cliche or a plain, lifeless cardboard cutout girls are attracted to for no reason. He actually has some measure of personality and coolness. Now there's a first.
Edit: Just watched episode 2, and this looks like it'll be a really enjoyable anime.

Sora No Manimani.

A return to a hometown after a number of years away, a new school, reunited with a childhood friend (not the typical childhood friend, but a more haruhi-esque type- Dragging the main character around to look up at the stars and stuff. That said, she's nowhere near as pushy or annoying as Haruhi. This one's actually likeable).
Main character does not like her, Sam I Am. He does not like her green eggs and ham.
Sounds generic, but not as much as you'd think.

Spice & Wolf II.

Watch the first season. Then you'll know.
New studio, though. Just hope they don't screw it up.

Tokyo Magnitude 8.0.

Not really sure why I'm watching this. Interesting premise, but I'm doubtful as to whether I'll continue it. I don't really like it that much, for some reason (coughartcough).

Umi Monogatari.

Mahou Shoujo with a twist. There's two of them. And a loli sidekick (who doesn't do much, except unleash some ancient evil that will "spread darkness over the land", or whatever the hell that means. I really don't see why they seal these things away instead of killing them, I really don't).
Our main this time is a reluctant girl, keen to take on the dirtiest of jobs other people won't, but strangely reluctant to accept friends. She's the only reason I'm actually watching the show.
Oh, and a turtle with a hat.

Umineko No Naku Koro Ni.

Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni was a personal favourite of mine- I loved both seasons, and people have said they were complete rubbish compared to this series. So here I am.
Side note: THIS LOLI. THIS LOLI. THIS LOLI. She has the most annoying whine since this bitch, who ends every sentence with that "NANO-DA~" that somehow grates on your brain worse than a dentist's drill and a baby screaming put together. But at least this one's whine was meant to be annoying.

Yokuwakaru Gendai Mahou.

I feel like this guy.
This seems to be the same as the two biggest failures of last season... and many more seasons beforehand:
Shinkyoku Soukai Polyphonica Crimson S
and
Tayutama.
Oh, how I could type and type and type about the zombification, the brain cell-killing qualities of these two horrible, horrible anime... But I won't. I'll leave that for when I type up my reviews for them.
Suffice to say, I'm watching (for now), but I'm not expecting much (if anything at all).

Just why I finished those two horrible anime is a mystery even to me. It seems I have a history of finishing really bad anime.

Needless.

No. Just... No.
This looks like a really bad copy of Gurren Lagann. Different premise, different characters, same kind of art, but so much more fail.
Dropped after 1 episode.

Element Hunters.

Educational kids' anime. Decided not to watch it after watching the show with shitty subs from a certain shitty subbing group. Then I watched it raw, and it made so much more sense.
Dropped after 1 episode.

Zan Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei.

Definitely an improvement on the second series. (first was funny, the second only interesting. The OVA wasn't exactly the best.)
Gotten funny again, so I'll stick with it.

Bakemonogatari.

Hell yes. Finally, a heroine the main character doesn't fall in love with instantly. Also, she's armed with stationery. And has a great repository of insults to hurl at the main character. Supernatural stuff abound. Then again, you can tell by the name*.
DO WANT WATCH.

*Note: Bakemonogatari is a play on words- Bakemono for monster/supernatural creature, monogatari for story. Ghostory (Ghost Story) is the most fitting translation, I guess.

Facebook is for prepubescent girls, and the paedophiles looking for those prepubescent girls.
And a convenient way for your employer/teacher to read every word you've ever written in the last twelve months, looking for any criticisms of your job/boss/teacher/school/the hot new secretary who everyone calls "Tits" because nobody can remember her name. And because they're big. Which is probably the reason nobody can remember her name.
And farmville.

Myspace is for gangster wannabes and people who want to share their crap taste in music by filling about 400 browser pages with youtube videos of crap artists, for people who also fill 400 browser pages with youtube videos of crap artists for other people who do the same thing, ad infinitum, to infinity and beyond, et cetera.

Twitter is for people who believe every single person on the internet, including God, Jesus, Buddha and whoever the fuck scientologists worship, wants or needs to know to every time they get their obese arses off the chair in front of their computer to take a shit.

And now, here I am, blogging about them. Oh, hypocrisy.
