Anime Relations: Fullmetal Alchemist, Fullmetal Alchemist: The Conqueror of Shamballa, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood

Wow...I've been catching up after watching it in Japanese...and wow. I watched it all over again. In English. Up to the last episode they dubbed, which was episode 52. Sadly, we can't expect the rest of the series to be dubbed until Late June or early July. BUT! Let's take a peak at the wonderful work they did.
Vic did a wonderful job as usual, portraying Edward's emotion perfectly.
Alphonse's new voice was fresh, and I could barely tell the difference at first. But one thing amazed me and had me almost piss my pants. (I'm a fangirl, of course.)
But in episode 51, Al made me so proud. He said a dirty word! I for one love to hear that in Anime, 'cause it makes it feel all badass. And in this Dub, I swear you will hear profanity throughout at least every episode. Of course that's not what makes the anime, but it proves the voice actors are just as badass as the characters. Some say the original counterpart of the anime had more emotion-but I don't agree. What's more, is they chose the best opening possible in the 5th opening. One of the lines, "Why won't the rain stop?" reminded me of Roy Mustang and how he thought it was raining when he paid respects to Hughes. This series is just as deep, if not deeper, than it's original.

And this opening, Period, won my heart. The song felt so magical.

Personally I like this series better, for it added the illegal imigrant Lau, and his companion Lan-fan. And the Homunculus...wow. It was all amazing. And the ending songs, almost all of them gave me happy thrills at the end of the episodes.



The fight against the Dwarf in the Flask was portrayed nicely. And the English dub was by far easier for me to understand. And the voices made it all the more better. The manga is always better as they say-and I'm glad Fullmetal Alchemist got what it deserved when they animated Brotherhood. Even though the character's noses are occasionally slopped down, it makes hardly a difference since the shading and colors of the anime are so vivid and smooth. The fight scenes are portrayed well. It's like it's not fight scenes, but almost slaughter. That in itself was beast. The character development went deeper than it did in it's counterpart, and the emotion throughout the whole thing was brilliant. Even though this series is deep, it never fails with it's comedy in between. And it blends in perfectly. When it comes to Ed's short rants to Roy getting drunk and buying a truckload of flowers, there's plenty the series has to offer. Some of the best things that got me is when Ed was luring Scar to him, and when Roy was pretending to flirt with this girl called 'Elizabeth' when it's actually Hawkeye. Another would be Ed's confession to Winry and his sense of style. (Flashy, what a showoff.) Some of the minor characters call Hohenhiem Mr. Ho in the English dub, too.

Overall I believe if you liked the first series you should check this one out. It takes a huge shit on the Shamballa movie too. (don't get me wrong, I loved that movie.)
Don't forget to add this wonderful masterpiece to your collection.
