Anime Relations: Kekkai Sensen, Triage X, Dungeon ni Deai wo Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru Darou ka, Etotama, Arslan Senki (TV), Ore Monogatari!!, Kyoukai no Rinne, Gunslinger Stratos The Animation
The Spring 2015 anime season is now about halfway done and I am so glad that the weather has been good for the past month so that I've been able to get out of the house and do things instead of trying to force myself to choke down the current anime season offerings. This season started out poorly and has only gotten worse. Even the series which I am still watching are not particularly compelling.

Spring 2015 series that I am still watching:

“Kyoukai no Rinne” - episodes watched: 6, current rating: C+. Takehashi is just treading water with the manga series and despite the efforts of the animation team, the anime is doing the same. It's just too much of the same old thing from Rumiko, but it is tolerable which is a positive factor for it in this season.

“Dungeon ni Deai...” aka “Danmachi” - episodes watched: 6, current rating: B-. It's a cute enough harem fantasy when the main girl is in action, but the male lead has turned into Albino Jesus who will Forgive any Fallen Loli. If this keeps up I might not make it to the end even though it is only 12 episodes.

“Arslan Senki” - episodes watched: 6, current rating: B. It is a bad sign for a series when the episodes are most interesting when the main character is absent. If this show's Albino Jesus starts to get more screen time it might be difficult to make it to the end of this series too.

...and that's it – only three new series have made it to the halfway point in my viewing list, and I would probably drop them in a flash if I had any alternatives. (To give you an idea, last week I re-watched the first half of “Zetsuen no Tempest” over a few nights because I was getting “withdrawal symptoms” from not watching any anime that really inspired me.)

Spring 2015 series that I dropped since that last time I wrote about this season:

“Gunslinger Stratos” - episodes watched: 2, final rating: C-. The initial action went away quickly and I didn't care at all about the info dumps or the moody teens.

“Kekkai Sensen” - episodes watched: 3, final rating: C+. This was a case of a series just trying too hard to be “too cool”.

“Triage X” - episodes watched: 3, final rating: C. The action went away and left the brain-deadedness out in the open.

“Etotama” - episodes watched: 3, final rating: C. The series substituted continuous noise for comedy.

“Ore Monogatari” - episodes watched: 2, final rating: C+. Cute enough, but nothing original.

And I am still watching “Meitantei Conan”, “One Piece”, “Folktales from Japan”, “Sailor Moon Crystal”, “Kutsudaru” and “Anime de Wakaru Shinryounaika” from previous seasons.
