Welcome back. Last time I found out the conflictive student I look for as a possible villainess was in her clubroom, so I’m now crossing the field as the club rooms are placed on the other side. As unwieldy and stupid that sounds.

Hair
Otoha has brown hair. Light brown hair no less, and fairly short. In Humikane’s art it even comes close to blonde, but it’s unarguably brown in the anime. Since JC Staff made the show it has the unfortunate side-effect of making her resemble a certain middle schooler with a sparky crotch. Still beats a derpface any day though. Mind, Otoha’s hair has its strong points. For one her bangs are perfect blunt ones, sure she sadly has a “gap” in middle but it’s fairly small. The color goes well with her eye color too. Lastly, like all girls she has two shield-shaped hair decorations in her plugsuit. Hey, overall her hair isn’t too bad, good for Otoha.
Grade: B

Eyes
Otoha’s eyes are a brown-reddish color. Perhaps they’re closer to brown, but in some of her images it has a red shade I can’t really ignore. It certainly helps her for sure. Sadly the shape doesn’t help as she has tareme, though I suppose it fits her nice nature. Her eyes go well with her hair at least. She never wears glasses I believe. Still, she has lovely eyes overall.

Body
Build
Otoha HAS MEASUREMENTS, hallelujah! Her height is 159 cm, a bit over my ideal but not too much and about average with for the four main girls. Weight is 45 kg, so a typical anime one. Finally, her measurements are 78/54/81, pretty nice since her hips beat her chest even if not by much and her chest is not too large. Two other girls also have bottom-heavy ones; sadly the curvier one is also the only top-heavy one because this is a JC Staff show. 85 cm breasts to 83 cm hips, nothing crazy but still. That aside Otoha has a beautiful lolish body, being not too small but not too big either. I wish she had better legs though, but overall she’s really good. This series has the same character designer than Strike Witches and it shows. Also, while not related to this exactly Otoha has been taught kendou by her grandpa and is really strong.

As said before this series shares its character designer with Strike Witches and, as a result of that, all the main girls get good butt focus! Otoha is no exception, with her luscious lolish rear end being featured often in-series. In particular the OVA has an awesome dude who won’t stop staring at her behind, go random dude having more unique tastes than a dozen harem leads put together. Sadly official art kinda lacks buttshots of it because JC Staff, but fanart got that covered. The plugsuits help, naturally! Humikane should design more series.

Clothes
She has quite a few costumes. Otoha’s main and BEST costume is her piloting suit: A white and grey leotard with long gloves attached to it, a tail, cute white thighhighs or maybe long boots, and two shield-shaped hair accessories. All the pilots wear such a sexy costume with variations, and I admit I saw the show because of that. Besides the glorious pilot wear Otoha has her black military uniform, notable for being almost the only time she wears a skirt! Yes, most of her “normal” clothes include pants and there’s also the training tracksuit, I don’t really mind since skirts make buttshots harder so more girls should wear pants. Or shorts. The mandatory swimsuit is a dark pink bikini, except her top resembles a training bra so it’s better. She also dons a leaf bikini at one point. Other costumes include her tight diver suit, her kendou clothes that look miko-ish like they should, and a cute Santa girl dress with a capelet and matching thighhigh boots; for some reason JC Staff really went out in that ep and gave all of the girls different Santa costumes, cool for them. That’s more costumes for Otoha I thought, she has a fairly varied and mildly butt-focused wardrobe too so awesome for her.

Personality
Otoha is one of the girls chosen to fight a group of aliens because the robot frames the girls used are attuned to specific DNAs because of reasons. Said aliens had attacked humanity once and they got killed with nukes, causing 80% of males ages 20-65 to perish during the battle. Don’t worry, that’s the excuse the show uses to have cute heroines so it’s all good. Otoha, like one of her fellow companions Karen, has no piloting training so they learn the basics thanks to experienced pilot and third lead character Eika. Once they master flying they kill aliens by spamming combination attacks, kind of like modern Pretty Cures only justified as aliens regenerate and the combination attack stops them from doing so. There is a bunch of other stuff too, and mostly concerning Otoha, but I don’t want to spoil most of the show so know the later parts are better.
Otoha is a typical mecha lead, but I don’t mean this on a bad way. She’s not exactly the hot-blooded type sadly, but she is brave, courageous, and works hard. She’s also a nice and friendly cheerful girl who cares for her friends and close ones. Okay, so it sounds kinda generic, but it still works as she’s that awesome. Not as much as Yuuna, but that would be a tall order. I still like Otoha a lot, of course. Her Sonic Diver is called Reijin, or Zero as she names it, and unlike the other girls who favor gunfire she uses a blade. This fits her courage, so I approve. Overall she’s a good heroine and made her fun underrated series better, I wish Sky Girls got more love.
Grade: B+
Libido
Otoha has some romance going with Ryouhei, the aforementioned guy who stares at her butt. It never comes as anything serious sadly, but hey, he’s a bit older and likes her ass so I can’t really complain, it’s more some shows have.

Ayako Kawasumi is a VA that I quite enjoy, in no small part thanks to her doing a lot of ojou girls. Sadly Otoha isn’t ojou and speaks normally, but she’s nice still. Considering the studio maybe she’s Kazumi from Shana, but minus the useless flab. Half Kazumi half Mikoto, then.
