My #50 Video Game: Portal 2
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portal_2

Played the Game On: Xbox 360

I cannot think of any games that have a single player and co-op modes with vastly differently levels but have both be really good.

I actually played the Co-Op mode first with our very own B8er TexasZea. Co-op mode was definitley the more difficult campaign gameplay wise. There were a ridiculous amount of hard to figure out puzzles, a few that I had to resort to cheating (using YouTube) to figuring out the solution. That said, I think this is most fun I've had playing co-op in any video game.

The Single Player Mode wasn't quite as fun/challenging as Co-Op but it was still a solid campaign. While the humor/story was kinda amusing sometimes I'm not really into it as much as most others. That said I still definitely liked the campaign in Portal 2 more than the original.

Favorite Character: GLaDOS
http://half-life.wikia.com/wiki/GLaDOS

As said above I'm not into the actual characters/humor of the series as much as everyone else but GLaDOS is probably the most amusing of them and the part
was pretty great.

My #49 Video Game: Digimon: Digital Card Battle
http://digimon.wikia.com/wiki/Digimon_Digital_Card_Battle

Played the Game On: Playstation 1

I liked almost all the Digimon games that were on the PS1 but they all had big flaw that prevented me from really liking it (Digimon World being too vague, Digimon World 2 having really annoying dungeons, etc.)

However, Digimon: Digital Card Battle was definitley my favorite of the bunch.

I have a thing for the really popular trading card games. I really liked Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh, Magic the Gathering but having to pay to play people a lot sucked.

As far as video game original card games this is defintley my favorite (Hearthstone was just ok but I never played any Warcraft games before that). I liked how the story had a lot of Digimon Season 1 and Season 2 characters, and the cards were based on Digimon S1/S2 ones.

The whole being able to (and having to) start with a Rookie Digimon card then having to sacrifice Digimon for Digivolve Points to go to Champion and then Ultimate (not sure why Mega wasn't in though) was a really cool and addicting idea.

Digimon cards having 3 attacks (circle, triangle, cross) was cool since cross while usually the weakest had cool abilities like attack sealing someone who tries to use a circle attack. It takes a great amount of prediction even when playing against CPUs so its always exciting.

I also liked how all the cards were divided into 5 Properties. Fire = Powerful attacks, low HP, Ice = High P, having a lot of attack sealing but low attack, Nature, High DP average HP/Attack, Darkness = Very High attack, varying HP, low DP, Rare = all about powerful support effects, low Attack/HP.

You could even mix properties together in decks.

I really wish Bandai would release this game with online play and more cards from more recent Digimon series.

Favorite Partner to Use: Veemon

One thing I didn't mention is that since the story/characters used are based on Season 2, you have special Partner Digimon you can use from S2 to ARMOR Digivolve. It was great when you didn't have to DP to evolve to Champion from another Rookie to a Champion but you can't go to Ultimate without using a special card.

My #48 Video Game: Silent Hill 2
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silent_Hill_2

Played the Game On: Playstation 2

A lot of people hype this up as the best survival horror game and from all the ones I played (which admittedly isn't that many), it's definitely my favorite.

While I kinda like classic Resident Evil, I don't really consider it nearly as 'scary' (even in the REMake) since a lot of the attempted scares feel free cheap and actually kinda funny in comparison.

The one thing Silent Hill 2 does better than other survival horrors is incredible atmosphere (and I usually don't care about atmosphere). Right from the beginning when you are walking towards Silent Hill the really foggy roads made the just walking outside kinda creepy.

It's when you go inside different buildings where it legit starts to get really creepy. Especially when it's really dark AND that crackling noise that plays when an enemy is nearby. With This game you just have no idea what to expect when going through Silent Hill 2.

However, the gameplay isn't the only good thing about the game.

The story is really good. There are bunch of good plot twists later on, different endings (some that are really depressing) and a bunch of cool symbolic things that were cool to read up on after beating the game.

Favorite Character: James Sunderland

Can't be anyone else. The stuff you find out about him later on is really interesting.

My #47 Video Game: Bomberman Hero
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bomberman_Hero

Played the Game On: Nintendo 64

I think most people like classic 2D multiplayer Bomberman a lot more than this and probably don't even care about this.

However, I actually like this a lot more than Classic 2D Bomberman (but that's still fun).

This basically is just a standard 3D platformer but with bombs.. but honestly that's exactly why I really like this game.

The game mixes platforming with good puzzles. There are a bunch of powerups in typical Bomberman fashion you get to keep until you die and there are multiple exits on many maps.

My #46 Video Game: DanganRonpa: Trigger Happy Havoc
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Danganronpa:_Trigger_Happy_Havoc

Played the Game On: Playstation Vita, English Dub Version

I love the Ace Attorney series and I've been wanting a game that's kind of similar to it while having its own unique themes/gameplay and this game defintiley delivers on that premise.

While reading foolmo's current DanganRonpa playthrough topic, I like to think of this game as Ace Attorney's logic solving, Mafia's premise of town (the people who didn't kill) vs. the mafia (the person who did kill) and Persona's Social Links.

The core of DanganRonpa is being a murder mystery and even with the very obvious killer of Chapter 1, the trials are mostly really fun. There are few mini-games that aren't really necessary like Hangman's Gambit and Bullet Time Battle but Closing Argument and Endless Debate are great enough to make up for it.

Even the non-trials are pretty good, with a good amount of main story and the a bunch of character development/history learned through Social Links... I mean Free Time.

Favorite Character: Kyouko Kirigiri
http://myanimelist.net/character/63845/Kyouko_Kirigiri

Although she can be a bit selfish and has a tendency to hide things she's still the most likable character. Usually deduces things and does some pretty cool stuff throughout the story.

My #45 Video Game: Mario Kart 64
http://www.mariowiki.com/Mario_Kart_64

Played the Game On: Nintendo 64

Many Future Mario Kart games have improved the mechanics, item balance and customization a lot which I definitley do enjoy.

However Mario Kart 64 in my opinion, still stands above the others due to two things: stages and music.

To this day, MK64 still by far has my favorite set of stages in the whole series. Most N64 stages that appear in later Mario Kart games are usually my go-to choice (outside Luigi Raceway and Mario Raceway).

Not many Mario Kart games have super crazy shortcuts like the ones in Rainbow Road or Wario Stadium anymore which kinda sucks albeit they were pretty cheap.

Favorite Stage: Yoshi Valley

So many stages could easily be my favorite like Toad's Turnpike, Rainbow Road, Choco Mountain, etc. However, Yoshi Valley wins due to the 4 different routes and the unknown placements until the very end thing.

It's probably the N64 stage that was ruined the least in MK8.

My #45 Video Game: Mega Man 7
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mega_Man_7

Played the Game On: Gamecube, through Mega Man Anniversary Collection

Easily the most underrated Mega Man game. While this was the point where Robot Masters were starting to get weird (JUNK MAN) I still found fighting them and their levels really fun.

I actually like the updated graphics and overall level design. The whole 4 levels available now then the other 4 levels later was weird but something I liked.

The OST is honestly one of my favorites in the series.

Mega Man 7 has one and one big flaw only, and it's the really stupid last boss that's so stupidly difficult that it's practically luck-based to win.

My #43 Video Game: Tales of VS.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tales_of_VS.

Played the Game On: PSP, Imported from Japan

Dissidia was a fun game but just had a bit too many frustrating parts to make me really like the game (plus I'm not the biggest FF fan).

However, Tales of VS was a lot closer to what I want, a Super Smash Bros.-ish clone mixed with typical TAles battle system.

For the most part Tales of VS delivered greatly. There were the same amount of characters as in Brawl (35-36) and there were a good variety of characters.

The battle system pretty much felt like a 2D Tales game with Super Smash Bros. platforming and level gimmicks and stuff.

There are a few slight flaws like the CPU being cheap in 1P mode sometimes, mages needing a lot more grinding just to be even with fighters, not being able to turn off time limits and the game being on the PSP.

However, otherwise I was very satisfied with what I had, it just sucks it didn't sell well so there won't be a console version or sequel.

Favorite Character: Kohaku Hearts

Kohaku was my favorite character to play in the original Tales of Hearts. Having some decent combos along with some healing/magic options was cool (hybrid characters tend to be my favorite in Tales games).

I'm pretty excited to play as her in Tales of Hearts R.

My #42 Video Game: Mario Party 2
http://www.mariowiki.com/Mario_Party_2

Played the Game On: N64

Mario Party 2 is one of my favorite local multiplayer games to play.

While the other N64 Mario Parties are good, MP2 has many favorite maps and favorite mini-games. The only things I like more about Mario Party 3 is having a bit more mini-game variety and more characters/stages.

This game is just a blast to play with friends. It's not always the most "fair" game but that's the point, screwing your friends over with Chance Time and Bowser spaces is always really fun.

Single-player is surprisingly decent too. The mine-cart thing was a surprising challenge, with the difficulty of mini-games going up the farther you go.

Favorite Mini-Game: FACE LIFT

It's close between this and Crazy Cutter (which are both from MP1) but I always really like mini-games that score you based on points the most.

Favorite Level: Bowser Land

Reverse Banks are still the best thing ever in Mario Party. Landing on bank spaces is objectively one of the worst things ever but it's hilarious whenever someone does.

My #41 Video Game: Tales of Destiny (Remake)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tales_of_Destiny#PlayStation_2_versions

Played the Game On: Playstation 2, Imported from Japan

You know the CC system that was put in Tales of Graces f? Destiny PS2 was the first game to implement it and it was glorious.

I didn't really like the original Destiny because of how annoyingly slow the gameplay was so when I heard the changes they were making to the gameplay I was pretty hyped. This was actually the very first Japanese game I imported and I was very impressed (despite not understanding a lot of the dialogue but thankfully I got the gist of it thanks to playing the original PS1 version a long time ago).

The CC system, while a bit more refined in Graces f, was still really good here. Being able to spam whatever moves you want without having to worry about TP is one of the best things in the series. What was both good and sucked was being stuck on a 2D plane. In order to make up for the spam potential they made a lot of enemies later on in the game annoyingly hard (especially the boss fights), so it was a bit annoying to have a bunch of random battles kill you because enemies will randomly no-sell you in the middle of a combo that just burst you down.

In addition, Destiny's cast is probably one of my overall least favorites (personality-wise) in the series. It's not that they're terrible, the majority of them are just really forgettable/boring.

Thankfully the CC system is what really makes the game for me.

Favorite Character: Lilith Aileron

The best (and only?) playable joke character in the series.

Her moveset has a bunch of crazy ridiculous over-the-top moves like using smashing her frying pan that create sound waves that damage an enemy, summoning a gigantic fish that's the equivalent of using "Beast", riding said fish to attack a bunch of enemies at once, and creating a rainbow when slashing with her ladle.

She has the least amount of moves out of anyone but they're all so great and fun that it doesn't matter.

Kinda Subverting the typical Yamato Nadeshiko archetype (she's good at cleaning and cooking at home) by being really snarky a lot of the time is a nice touch though she doesn't get any main plot focus sadly.

My #40 Video Game: Lost Vikings 2
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Lost_Vikings#The_Lost_Vikings_2

Played the Game On: SNES

This is pretty much the best game almost no-one has played.

I liked the original Lost Vikings but this sequel took the formula and made basically everything better in my opinion.

The original 3 now have more abilities and aren't just one/two-trick ponies anymore, Fang and Scorch are really fun and the level design is better and more forgiving.

Otherwise it's basically the same as the original: a cool mix of 2D platformer and puzzles. There's even optional co-op.
