Am I going bi-weekly? I'm sure that's what you are probably wondering about when you read this blog after 2 weeks since the last one, well... I would have posted a shopping blog last week, but I only bought one manga... And you can probably guess the rest from there. Also I'm going to start putting subtitles on the entry title now, I'm just adding a little thing that'll add a little more to the blogs.

ANIME: This week Funimation FINALLY brings more Kai, and Sentai Filmworks finally beats Funimation in something that Funimation prioritizes in.

I've been wondering if Funimation had cancelled Dragonball Kai in it entirety, but hallelujah, I got Dragon Ball Z Kai: Part Seven, released by Funimation.

The big thing that sticks out with this set right away is the total amount of episodes, 11 episodes instead of the actual 13. And honestly, it's not that big of a deal. The price didn't change, but it's still at a reasonable (And very affordable) $20.00. But, I can't help but wonder what the last set will end up being like, especially since DBZ Kai ends on episode 98, and this set ends on episode 88.
Moving on, the product itself is your standard thin pack dvd set that holds two thin pack cases within a slip cover (And to be honest, it's been a while since Funimation released a dvd set like this). The dvd cases inside are recycled unfortunately, and this set in still covered in generic dragonball pictures (Besides the the front cover itself) that plagued the entire dvd line, they're stock pics from the anime itself.
Do I Recommend It? For fans of dragon ball in general and those who have been collecting the series, why stop now?

Next up, those Pirates I promised weeks back there finally here, One Piece Collection Five, released by Funimation.

Now if you watch one piece, but will only buy one set that's available legally, then here it is. This set covers the entire final part of the baroque works arc, and yes the fight between Luffy and Crocodile is all here and in all of it's uncut bloody glory. So you can imagine that I'm anxious to watch it immediately (The stuff I put off for making this blog...LOL). And the big thing about this set? It's 27 episodes, and not even an increase in it's price that it's been running with the whole time (Viz could learn a lot from Funimation in that regard).
The set itself has nothing new to offer physically, and is just like how the older sets are, which wasn't anything bad at all in the first place, and for $24.99 and cheaper online, One Piece fans should be ashamed of themselves if they aren't buying these sets.
Do I Recommend It? Do I really have to say anything? You should have to bleed yourself for the money to get this set if that is what it takes to buy this.

And finally something that I almost semi-regret buying again, Mardock Scramble: The First Compression (Director's Cut), released by Sentai Filmworks.

What's that? I'm retarded? I can argue that, but at least when I bought it the first time it was only $10.99. This version is the definite version to grab, which I should have gotten the blu ray instead of the dvd, but at least it'll give something odd to talk about.
The dvd case is the first of it's kind I've ever encountered, for starters it's not clear, it's not black and it's not recycled, it's gray. Now I know what you're thinking, "So what? Big deal, it's a different color," Not only is it a different color, it's made out of a higher grade of material, it's almost a chip board kind of durability. This is something unexpected to say the least, but that's where the praise ends.
Getting the disk out is rather... tough, to the point of almost breaking the disk in half. You have to pinch the center and gently pull the disk out to actually get it out without getting any damage done to it. If this is the new dvd cases Sentai is going to roll with for now on, I'm actually on board with it, more durable cases equals a better product in the long run. Oh, and the extras, the dvd is chok full of them, especially the biggest reason to buy this movie: The length is more than double the amount the regular edition is, 125 minute from 60 minutes is a huge upgrade and the price reflects the increase in time, $19.99 retail and a little more expensive online strangely.
Do I Recommend It? This movie is a bizarre treat, and an original engaging movie at that, if you haven't bought the standard version yet, then here's the version to get instead.

MANGA: Viz and Yen Press bring their Mature A-game this week for just two manga.

First up is the point of no return, and the beginning of the "end", Bunny Drop volume 5, released by Yen Press.

I shiver at the thought of the ending, but now since I peeked at what the ending would be like... I can only dread for how it comes to that point...
The volume is of uncommon size, which is awesome of Yen Press to do something like this, and opens with a color page too, so paying $12.99 for it doesn't make the bite into your wallet sink very deep as you would first think.

And finally, something new and the first Viz Signature to be displayed on the blog, March Story volume 1, released by Viz Media.

Something new indeed as this is (I think) the very first Manwa I have ever bought, and the cover just grabbed me and wouldn't let go until I gave in, which might end up being a good thing as this manga has a lot of good word of mouth around it. Like with Bunny Drop, March Story is bigger than the average manga and well designed, viz likes to put effort into their signature line and I'm glad to see it. It's kinda on the thin side, but it's about 190 pages so it's all good for $12.99.

OVERALL: Funimation brings the mainstream, Sentai gets into re-releasing, and manga are getting bigger these days.

Because I'm in a good mood, an A- wouldn't be that big of a stretch would it?

Next week... I literally have no clue, in fact I might not even grab any thing (Bills are calling my name), but maybe something mainstream will suffice.
