I'm not all that great with profiles, most of the time they either turn out really wordy or I just throw in a random image and forget about the whole thing for months/years.
My name is Gina, most people call me Gina (boring, right?); I'm 23 and live in Las Vegas. No, I don't gamble, I rarely drink. I enjoy literature in various forms, including historical fiction, epic poetry, fantasy, folklore and some psychology studies. I also enjoy writing to an extent, as well as working with image editing software (Photoshop) and engineering design software (AutoCAD/Inventor/SolidWorks/etc.). I'm currently studying for a bachelor's in Architecture/Engineering.
Of course, as having an account on this site obviously implies, I thoroughly enjoy anime/manga. Anime-wise, I will try just about anything that's not mindless harem (mindless reverse-harem is okay though, hypocrisy aside). I've enjoyed many things from vastly different genres and plot settings, though my favorites tend to revolve around slice of life; but if you're wanting to recommend something, be my guest.
I'm a bit more picky with manga since I don't indulge in it as often. My favorite genre's are romance/shoujo and seinen/psychological/horror. I guess I'm just a sucker for nicely drawn men and intestines. I do read the occasional shounen, they're still relatively entertaining in an action movie you're only going to watch once in your lifetime kind of way (you barely know what the hell is going on anymore, but that gunfireballmonologue sword is pretty big and you've already read the other 250 chapters, so you might as well finish it); and I really dislike reading anything that involves flashing panties or breasts, unless done in an ingeniously satirical sort of way (I'm looking at you, Kumeta-sensei).
I don't watch much TV aside from anime. If I do, it's usually either one of the three Law & Order series or some other crime drama (that's not CSI). I also enjoy watching shows about various theories/proofs of planetary and species evolution on the History/Discovery Channel, and culinary competitions on Food Network (even though my own highest caliber of cooking skill is probably chicken fettuccine alfredo out of a box...).
I'm being lazy, and I know many people don't like to read, so we'll put the rest of this in lists for now.
Other likes: Music (classical, techno/trance, alternative, faux Latin/Gregorian chants, Korean R&B, Japanese rock/pop, etc.), quiet, sweet/salty foods, strawberry anything, yaoi (with grown men, thanks), cats, the rain (its sound, smell and feel), thinking, daydreaming, sleeping, tea, spiced cider, handheld/console games, the color red.
Other dislikes: Noise, crowds, sunny/windy days, spicy foods, loli/shota-con, emotional/clingy people, eating my vegetables, waking up early, birds, my eyes after 5+ hours of photoshop, smoking, coffee (blasphemy, I know), bees.

How I Rate Anime/Manga:
For the most part, I feel like my scores are pretty fair, but I guess there are a few series on my list that might be arguable due to my own bias or somebody else's. As you can see from my time spent on anime (which is actually flawed, since I gave up on recording second and third re-watches), I tend to watch things two and three times over, and part of my scoring incorporates the re-watch value of a series.
10 - It's not a matter of if I'll watch this series again, only a matter of when, which is usually on a semi-regular basis (sometimes an episode here and there). These are series that seemed perfect, and I find myself going back to and enjoying thoroughly the second and third time just as much as the first. 9 - Usually series that I enjoyed immensely, couldn't find any real flaws with; but for some reason I don't usually go back to them later on. 8 - Opposite to 9's, I probably found some flaws in this series, whether it be in plot, character development, or length (too short/too long), but for some reason I still re-watch a lot of these on occasion. 7 - I probably won't watch this again, but it's likely that I'll watch another season if it comes out. 6 - It was fine to watch, sometimes I'll continue these on basis of characters that I really love, really nice action scenes, etc. or if it's just short enough that I don't see the point in dropping it. I don't usually continue on into a second season though. 5 - Either this was seriously mediocre and it's amazing that I finished it, or something probably ruined it for me. Whether it was too much filler or it was going pretty well and then cut off without warning, etc. It's rare that I would continue a 5 unless it was either A. Short or B. Good enough to be a 6 or 7, but was ruined by one of the aforementioned reasons. 4/3 - These tend to be movies/specials/etc. which are seriously flawed, but I won't drop because they're only one or two episodes in length. I usually end up regretting that I watched them, but they're still there. 2 - There's nothing else to describe a series with this score except for bad. If it's not 1 or 2 episodes long and I didn't drop it, I was probably forced into watching this. 1 - I probably wanted to gouge my eyes out at some point while watching this.
Of course there are exceptions to every rule, so don't take all my scores on a basis of this table. I also tend to re-evaluate series and change some scores later on after getting over any hype that I might have had, or if I found a series that used the same concept and did things better, etc.
