Directed by the great Fukuda, both are masterpieces of anime-saving level separated only by time. -Opening animation similarly features familiar scenes triggering memories of Gundam Seed but not quite the same. -Heavy utilization of caricatures in an attempt to portray discrimination, betrayal and jealousy, firmly believing they succeeded. -Features very expansive settings with endless possibilities yet somehow only focus on a tiny cast. -Main characters are logic-defying, utterly stubborn in whatever they do, spearheaded by extreme stupidity yet never learn anything which invokes audience empathy from their teenager days, adding a unique layer of depth to character writing -If you're ever confused, there's always a point of self-insertion in Jesus  read more

same feeling of political plot where one side try maintaining the war while one side trying to stop the war (cordinator vs natural in GSD and demon vs human in maoyuu)...

Gai Tsutsugami and Rey Za Burrel are similar and the main protagonist Ouma Shu is similar to Kira Yamato and the same goes for a pink haired singing girl (Inori and Lacus) . Story involves groups fighting corruption and at some point, revelations, corruption drama, and tragedy involve.

Rivalry, revenge, morality of right and wrong as well as good, ideology, evil, and neutral, friendship, ideas or methods to achieve peace/pacifism, war, and full scale battles.

Conflicts revolve around moralities as well as peace seeking solutions, anti heroism, drama, villainy, and ends to justify means involved. Gilbert Durandal's motives and intentions are similar to Light Yagami.

After hearing Kamui's seiyuu, I recognized that was Shinn's :0. So the reason why I put up this recommendation was because other than Code Geass being the spiritual successor of X, I see similarities between X and GSD regarding the main protagonists anti heroic elements and their decision making skills that puts them into a path where it forever warps their life. Other than that, fate of the world is the main theme regarding to save the earth as the way it is or to convert earth from it's corruption by any means necessary. It's worth watching once you get a hang of it because  read more

Both are mecha anime by the same studio, and both are huge trainwrecks

Fast-paced. Great characters. Great to watch when you're burned out on everything else. Some military aesthetic. Similarly kind-of a shonen action anime dealing with the morality of killing.

Both Story is about Of Despair on Shinn and Misaka Shinn had lost their parents and his younger sister on battle in 1st Bloody Valentine war while Misaka because her Clones were killed by Accelerator

I'm surprised no one has made this recommendation yet. Like how SEED did with the original Gundam, SEED Destiny takes many things from Zeta Gundam, from a hot headed MC to a golden mobile suit with chinese letters written on it. Shinn Asuka is basically Kamille Bidan minus the character development. If you want to see a childish little boy actually develop into a well rounded young man, give Zeta Gundam a watch and see how it compares to SEED Destiny.

Shinn like Hathaway suffered a tragedy that allowed him to join the revolution against the corrupted Earth government known to abuse privilege just to continue discrimination and retaliating against it means that he would be unable to repeat the marks of the past but at the same time must encounter obstacles and development along the way to justify what he stands for. GSD is no doubt the closest thing to that of HF since it is meant to harbor similar themes and emo protag.

Both shows have similar vibe going on in a sci fi setting. They feature war between a natural race and a superficial race with philosophical themes. The super soldier concept is identical though.

Some themes in Gundam Seed Destiny and FFVIII are alike, sci fi based, dark, and something that is dead will return.

Earth vs Colonies, protagonists are similar (Shinn and Garrod), Groups fighting for freedom (Minerva Crew and Freeden Crew) against tyrannical organizations (UNE and Space Revolutionary Army and Earth Alliance/Blue Cosmos). Twists occur and something behind the scenes is seeking far greater than just ending the war.

If you are a fan of ship operations, commanding ships, playing around with weapons and find yourself shouting "Activate CIWS!" then either would be a good watch.

even though its called "samurai 7" , both stories hold the story of people in war and they use robots to fight for the war

The uniforms for both the males and females (plus the logo of their forces) all are similar to one another. The warships remind me of Minerva as well.

they both have mechas.

Mecha wars with a romantic backstory.

At first glance you would immediately see the distinct similarity between the two--both revolve around mecha and political warfare. Even most of the characters from one series seem to have a counterpart with the other.

The character design are the same, both of them are made by Hisashi Hirai. And they are both mecha anime.

Gilbert Durantal's actions and motives are similar to Char Aznable and they both have the same VA. The universe in each story are very similar since Seed is the remake of the original. The story is modeled after the original as well.

morality of good, evil, and grey, character's goals intervene others to achieve peace, earth vs colonies, pacifism, neutral kingdom of peace, what is right and wrong, and sense of right and justice. Only difference is that in Seed Destiny, it takes to a different level between races (naturals and coordinators) and the choice to make a future whereas in wing it is all about war, peace, and weapons.

Shinn Asuka may be a carbon copy of Kamille Bidan but he too is like Kou Uraki. Story isn't just like Zeta Gundam but 0083 as well which leads to that point. Seed Destiny and 0083 may be different but they have similarities. There are some similarities: Shinn Asuka=Kou Uraki Yzak Joule=Anavel Gato Patrick Zala=Gihren Zabi Patrick Zala's loyalists=Delaz Fleet ZAFT=Zeon Earth Alliance=Earth Federation Blue Cosmos/Phantom Pain=Titans

Both anime use machines to fight in battle. Hina Yumihara protects Aboa Watase in order for him to meet Jyunyou Dio Weinberg while Kira Yamato protects his friends and helps them to bring an end to war and bring peace between Naturals and Coordinator's. Gundam Seed Destiny doesn't just evolve around just one person but multiple as they fulfill their own role in the story. Buddy Complex revolves around two boys who are coming of-age as they both come together and change the fate of the world

If you like the Seed then you will enjoy FMP. Tessa Testarosa is very similar to Lacus Clyne. enoy
