Recommendations

Both of these are movie installations of a long running space franchise, and both have updated art and animation when compared to previous releases in the franchise, though these changes are far more agreeable in MSG F91. Most importantly however, is that each of these films contains one of the best anime deaths ever, with the shell casing KO at the start of F91 and the hanging at the end of Ougon no Tsubasa.

Both films are set in the two bigger Gundam worlds (UC universe for F91 and CE for Stargazer) but regardless, they can both probably be enjoyed even without seeing their parent stories and connections, as they're fairly standalone (Stargazer does have some cameo appearances though). One thing they both really excel at compared to the main Gundam series, is the high amount of realism put into the action and some scenes. They're both a bit more upfront with the violence, depicting some gritty death scenes and whatnot. F91 opens up wiith an insanely detailed colony attack scene while Stargazer opens up with a city under  read more
