It's not just the hotblooded manly screaming and other super robot tropes which tie these shows together, although if one put Kamina in a digimon show he'd pretty much be Masaru Daimon; both seem determined to break the laws of physics and go beyond the impossible. But it's not hard to see the beastmen and themes of ethnic conflict in Mercurimon, Gotsumon and the other early digimon antagonists, or Kamina City in Eldoradimon, although the Antispirals bear more resemblance to Apocalymon than anything in this digimon series.

The main protagonist is rough around the edges yet deep down has a heart of gold. The same protagonist struggles in keeping out of trouble, yet their knack of getting in trouble draws them into an unseen world. Their adventures lead to forming bonds with others, but saving both worlds.

Classic "monster raiser" series. In a slightly unorthodox move, both these shows see their human main characters (Genki/Marcus[Masaru]) throw punches themselves against a wide variety of towering monsters.

Both later iterations of classic kids anime, both monster battler series, both from large spanning super popular franchises. Both well known as multi media franchises spanning lots of mediums. Both follow a group of young heroes on a larger than life adventure where they clash against the forces of darkness.

This anime is similar, because, although it's not a game, there is a parallel universe, (The Digiworld) and i picked this digimon title out of a bunch of others, probably because when i watch Future Card Buddyfight, Gao likes to attack too, he doesn't just make his friends (buddy cards) do all the work, even though Marcus usually only attacks once for a DNA charge, he would still be willing to fight, (or try to fight) and also the main characters, Marcus Daman, and Agumon, are really close friends, even though Agumon always calls Marcus, Boss (Aniki in japanese version) instead of Drum calling Gao  read more

Both have teams; "D-Team" & "DATS". Both these teams ally themselves with the series creatures, Digimon & Dinosaurs. Savers targets an older audience but both shows have similar tones and premise.

Both kinda re-imagine the core concept of their respective original series and craft a very interesting plot.

Both are concepts of homage remakes from their franchises respective original series. Both tried to appeal to newer fans as well as older fans of their franchises respective original series. With elements of their franchises previous series added within the mix. The Strike Gundam is a homage to the original Gundam, while Savers' Agumon is a homage to the original Agumon of Digimon Adventure. Both characters are similar counterparts to their franchises' respective original series, Kira Yamato to Amuro Ray (who's a lot more gentler than Amuro), Masaru Daimon/Marcus Damon to Taichi Yagami/Tai Kamiya (who's more hot-blooded to Taichi). Both of the main characters are voiced by Soichiro  read more

Because you will identify and recognize some voice actors in Digimon Savers/Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters GX (Judai's voice actor plays Kouki during Manjoume's voice actor plays Agumon and I guess there are more...), they both have done on the same animation company (Toei Animation), the main character is called 'Aniki' by one of the best friends (Sho and Kenzan on Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters GX and Agumon on Digimon Savers) and... Battling monsters! XDDD

Both have some type of beasts, one has digital monsters as trusty side kicks, one has a shadow beast but both beasts are combat worthy yet friendly with a sense of humor Both have a simple (not so simple if you watch them but...) light vs darkness scenario Both have a "Friendship is power" feel to them Both have epic feel battles and great finales Both make the finales very very "all hope is lost" in one way or another

Element hunters has so many similarities to the digimon series in being able to go to another world to fight monsters.. but savers is the most similar one (excluding the pet partners)

Masaru Daimon and Oga Tatsumi are basically the same character. Both start off as street fighter delinquents but after meeting Agumon/Baby Beel respectively, they begin to mature. Friendship is an important factor in both series.
