The basic concepts are definitely similar. Both shows feature an unconventional family dynamic made up of two adults in dangerous fields of work (spies and assassins) who end up adopting daughters and the comedy elements revolve around these dangerous people trying to navigate parenthood. I feel like Spy x Family is more suited to those who prefer more ridiculous comedic elements and Buddy Daddies is more suited to people who prefer comedy that's a little more grounded. Buddy Daddies is a grittier show with considerably darker moments and themes at times but both are brilliantly funny and surprisingly wholesome. If you want a sweet family story with a  read more

A gansters story, cute little girl, paternity… if you like this subjects, these both series will be of your like. However, just remember that the tone of both is completely different: Kumichou is almost full slice of life, while Buddy Daddies is action and comedy.

Storywise the two animes differ a bit (one about detectives and the other about hitmen), but the characters give off the same vibe - a duo team that works together and gives the audience a good laugh. The music and animation are similar too, they both have a bright atmosphere and scenes that are full of life.

Main characters involved in organised crime, end up as guardians of a young girl, try to protect her from their unwholesome line of work.

Primary adult cast involved with the mafia. Also have lots of gun fights and espionage.

Both are crime stories (in a variety of infiltration, heists and spionage jobs) with (mostly) adult cast and lots of comedy and action. VERY similar animation, direction and music.

Both series revolve around a child and people without blood relations who take care of the them. Both series are heart warming, though Buddy Daddies is a lot more cheery compared to Kotarou wa Hitorigurashi's realistic setting.

two male housemates, unlikely friends - one being sombre and the other upbeat and aloof, must keep their relationship alive throughout surprisingly drastic circumstances while keeping the girl they know safe from they're less-than-favorable lifestyle as she (however unknowingly) keeps them both from the brink by being the much needed ray of innocence and consistency in their lives. as for the shows themselves, they're both (almost) the same length (buddy daddies - 12 eps and link click - 11 eps), and they're both original stories.

Before you ask me, yes it’s kind of unusual that I’m comparing a romance harem anime with a child caretaking action thrilling anime because they play differently from each other. But I did see the deeper connection between these two that probably catch my eyes onto those. They are original animes, meaning they do not come from the manga before the first chapters of the manga were released. The main characters that are males have a hard time understanding of what love is for them and how to feel love. They even have flashbacks of how their first love died and how reality can really be  read more

A cute wholesome show that made me forget my problems for a while! 10/10

Both show has three main characters. All of them are almost similar, except for buddy daddies. It is lot more dark but starts out as a some-what light hearted one but the gear shifts with each episode. On the other hand, Spy X Family is a family friendly, light hearted, comedic and drama.

it's just funny and chill and genre and I love both of them!

The art style and character designs really remind of the Great Pretender. And the way the characters interact and move. It's like if the Great Pretender fused with Spy x Family.

You can call me crazy whatever you want, because you’re gonna be asking me something like “why am I comparing a Moe fantasy anime with a child-caretaking / action thrilling anime?”or “How do they play similarily from each other?” I’ll give you a very deeper explanation to that. Recommendations aren’t really just when they look the same but it comes with what’s the quality of it. Alright, so Yuuki and Miri are alike when it comes to just being innocent characters and they happened to be in a threatening territory where they might get harmed. Kokkoro, Karyl and Pecorine are always protecting Yuuki in any  read more

Both feature strong themes of found family. Lonely people coming together and becoming an unconventional, close-knit family. Sophie and Kazuki are responsible figures that are the back-bone of their new families. They both help others heal. Sophie cares for Howl and his apprentice Marco. Kazuki does the same for Rei and Miri. Both titles also have cleaning and cooking.

Buddy Daddies and Gangsta have similarities in story and characters. Story: The story revolves around a city with high crime activities. Both involve conflicts between Gangsters/Mafia. Characters: The main characters from both anime work by eliminating their targets (assassins/gangsters) They work as a team and live under the same roof. They also have similar dynamics: - Worick (Gangsta) and Kazuki (Buddy Daddies) are womanizers. - Nico (Gangsta) and Rei (Buddy Daddies) are calmer than the formers, and really skilled when it comes to their job. Differences: - Buddy Daddies sets on a more modern city compared to Gangsta. - Buddy Daddies tries to balance between slice of life and action, while Gangsta focused more on action. Various life circumstances connect two guys who seem different and unable to change. Chased by the mafia, involved in crime, and a corrupted society the two find friendship, people they hold dear, and new experiences that allow them to change.

Main male characters from these show are pretty similar. - A blonde who are popular with girls. - And a black haired hikikomori who like to spent all night doing their hobbies. Their world changed after they meet the 3rd main character, which is a girl.

Both shows themes of found family, parenthood, finding a home, and healing from trauma. Both shows have male characters growing into their role happily as a new adoptive parent.

Both anime explore the themes of "found families" and feature societal outcasts taking care of children cast aside by their parents. Both of these anime could also put you in the Christmas Spirit as the first and last arcs of Buddy Daddies are set at Christmas and Tokyo Godfathers takes place on Christmas Eve.
