While the first season of Natsume Yuujinchou was already compared often to Mushishi, Natsume Yuujinchou was always a lot more gentler and less that's-the-way-life-is than Mushishi. Zoku Natsume Yuujinchou for the most part is just like the first series, but it's a tad bit darker and closer to Mushishi, with its theme being confronting with reality and making a choice rather than the changing of the main character of the first season. Otherwise, watch both series for the reasons stated by others for natsume Yuujichou.

Both have characters that can see supernatural beings. Both are pretty slice of life shows with some comedy and adventure. They are fairly episodic and have some darker moments..

A world that involves monsters and spirits to exist, but only the main character who is human being able to see them. They both have companions, Haku being a counterpart to Nyanko sensei. Both involve growth from adolescence and helping others as a theme.

Both really calm and heart warming anime. Both animes give you same feelings.

Here we have two shows with one very big common theme. In each show, there is a character showing someone around a world which they aren't fully accustomed to. These two shows both have an air of seriousness mixed with light comedy that's just enough to make you laugh when needed and smile at the end of the episode.

-Both of them are heartwarming animes that can be sad at times - Both Mc's are selfless & kind people - Both are slice of life drama's that deal with somewhat supernatural things (one being yokai and the other being zodiac signs) - Soundtracks are similar

-Both anime's moods, animation, and flow of the story/plot are very lighthearted. -Both are slow-paced and centered around Slice of Life over Comedy. -Both have the calming quality.

Both titles have a unique-looking art style and give you that 'warm feeling inside' after watching.

-If you like evil spirits or "Youkai" (whatever it is) just like Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne. Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne is all about "Evil Spirits" or "Demons" , and Jeanne D'Arc is the one who seals them but the original Jeanne D'Arc died so a reincarnation of her is born which is Maron. Its full of romance mostly and i like it. Then Zoku Natsume Yuujinchou talks about "Youkai's" but it doesnt seal the evils though. It just gives the name of that Youkai because it was lost. Well see its not really similar but i think they have the same point of views.

A similar blend of everyday life with the supernatural.

The same peaceful sensation will invade you as you watch these two series. While missing a plot, each episodic story is touching, original and has an unique sense of humor attached to it. While Aria deals with the link between Neo-Venecia and its citizens. tourists and Undine, Natsume definitely present a similar relationship between Natsume, the ayakashi and the humans....

Not only do Natsume Yuujinchou and Hotarubi no Mori e have the same original creator and similar setting, they are animated by the same studio, with the same director and even the composer is the same. Without any doubt there is more than one that these two would both be liked by the same people. The girl, Hotaru, in Hotarubi no More e and the boy, Takashi (mostly referred to by his family name Natsume), both see demon and spirits and they both befriend them. Both the film and the series play with a melancholic feeling and the relationship between humans and spirits.

While I was first watching Kimi ni Todoke I realized how much the Art Style and The Music was. They don't really have a lot in common genre wise, but it has that supernaturalness to it but, (there really is spirits). If you're looking for Art and Music it's got it! ;D (PS: Go to Natsume Yuujinchou, Zoku is the sequel but it wouldn't let me chose it..This is my first time if you can't tell. ^^; sorry.)

These two are quite similar, dealing with youkai and the supernatural in a slice-of-life way. While the genders of the main character(s) differ, they are quite similar. That said, Natsume Yuujinchou tends to be a bit more melancholic about its subject in comparison.

Tactics is really similar to NY because they both relate main characters that had gone through a rough time in their childhood, but now they have friends. Tactics is a little bit gloomier, thought. Both, Kantarou & Natsume, have youkai as their friends and also as their servants. Both of them have great spiritual power, but are too soft.
