Recommendations

Both are sports anime that focus on highschool sports and tournaments with no "special effects". The premise with Hinata/Kageyama and Michi/Towa is pretty much the same. The characters are the centerpiece of each show and get great development. Both shows spend a long time on their matches and properly flash out the rival teams too. For the diffrences: Mou Ippon's relationships are more friendly than Haikyuu's. Plus, one is with girls and the other with boys.

New members of the girl's High School judo / camping club have whimsical low key fun without boys.

High School sports club weirdos have an emotive time creating memories to suck on like vampires when old.

Both shows are sports focused with mostly female cast. Birdie wing is about golf but not really whilst Mou ippon is about Judo. They're both action packed with beautiful friendships and rivalries. If you adore sports genre with mostly girls these 2 got you covered.

This series is also about judo and was one of the most loved titles for the late 80s.
