Ultraviolet: Code 044

even though the characters roles are kinda switched (the boy meets girl , to girl meets boy) and phantom is a lot better. this anime feels a little nostalgic and when i think it just reminds me of phantom, the emotionless killer with a bad way to live her life meets a guy who changes things for her she fals in love etc... 

They are both by Madhouse and have a similar artstyle and feel. Neither one has much of a story and rely heavily on action as well. 

both Ultraviolet: Code 044 and Kurozuka have same dark atmosphere and story veru similar art style and characters (female voice is the same ) strong female lead (a supersolider and a vampire) a lot of blood and violence and romance as subplot both are recomanded for 17+ 

Firstly the main characters are the same archetype - female assassins trained since they were little try to change themselves for the better and fight against who they were fighting for. (I don't consider that a spoiler because that's pretty much revealed in the first few episodes of both series) The art style of both series is similar as well. But what really made me think of Angel Heart as I was watching Ultraviolet was the feel of the show, they both definitely have the same feel. So much so that I looked up whether these two had some kind of relation when I got finished watching. read more
