They're both soul-crushing romance stories with some real conflict.

Both have a supernatural element to a world based on our own Similar drama elements, very emotional Interesting cast of characters Slice of life elements sprinkled in between

Both continues their story, have even more drama and a charming cast, both touches deeper/darker topics, also now we have more pressence of the antagonists.

They both are similar as: # Both have complex dialogues. # Both have love triangle (fruits basket - kyou, yuki and tohru/ oregairu - hikigaya, yukino, yui) # Both characters have complex emotions # Same sense of slice of life pacing # Both stories start slow If you like fruits basket, then you would like oregairu.

Fruits Basket's storyline/lore is far more elaborate and some would say grim, however certain characters in Inu x Boku feel and look eerily similar to FB's cast (this is also due to the use of tropes). Both are entertaining romantic stories with a strong mythical/supernatural element to them. Although Inu x Boku is much campier and feels much more like a satire with abundant fanservice while FB's humour is much more subtle. I absolutely loved both and enjoyed finding some parallels between the two.

1. Akatsuki no Yona has 4 characters who are human but have dragon-like abilities. The dragons are all connected to each other and Yona just like how the Zodiac characters are connected to Akito. Yona is completely different from Akito though. She is not possessive and abusive towards the dragons. 2. The comedy 3. Reverse harem but only slightly because the story makes it clear who will end up with main female lead early on

Both Fruits Basket and Kakushigoto are chilled, feel-good slice of life anime that have a more emotional underlying story/plot which develops gradually, drawing you in and leaving you wanting to see more. There is a good amount of comedy in both, which keeps the shows balanced and prevents the more dramatic aspects from making the episodes too serious/heavy. Both series do a really good job in investing you in the main plot and I feel that I can relate and, therefore connect, really well with the characters in both as well.
