Both stories have cultivation,martial arts/tecniques and spirit/special weapons that people rely upon to become stronger. Both MCs dont have a big backing power, are somewhat strong and dont know much about cultivation and the world they live in but learn bit by bit as the story progresses. Also they want to protect the girl they love thats why they train hard to aquire power. The enemies/villains of the stories are the typical people that want some kind of artifact/power that happen to be at a place where the MCs are.
