Mahou Shoujo Ikusei Keikaku

Both are magical girl series with a dark twist, where girls are granted magical powers by a cute animal companion - then it turns out there are serious consequences they didn't know about when they signed up for it... 

Both magical girl shows seem cutesy at first and have a happy-go-lucky main character, but don't be fooled--they get very dark. Expect a lot of brutal plot twists and suffering for the characters. The theme of death is very present in both shows, and they get darker as they progress. There's also a cute-looking but super ruthless mascot character who basically pulls all the strings and makes the characters suffer by not revealing certain information until later. Recommended if you want a magical girl show that shows no mercy to the characters 

These shows are extremely similar and saying anything could spoil both of them.  

Imagine, if Madoka have a survival game, without fighting a majo / monster-like creatures, kyuubei as hologram mascot (not as an alien, okay?), RPG-Themed, more mahou shoujo introduced, much darker-theme, and without "An irony and failed-to be hero girl" (yeah its you, Sayaka) If u can imagine it, u have Mahou Shoujo Ikusei Keikaku on your head right there ...... 

Both Have Cute Girls In A Bloody Gore Series Both Have Dark Twists Any Minute Both Are Magical Girl Series's Snow White And Ripple Resembles To Madoka And Homura And They Both Have A Cute Mascot That Acts Very Creepy But The Difference Is Magical Girl Raising Project Is A Survival Death Game, While Puella Magi Madoka Magica Is Not, If You Like Puella Magi Madoka Magica, I Would Recommend You To Watch Magical Girl Raising Project 

Both anime have the same kind of story. It was fuking dark with gore shit scenes. Both series are good and decent. Magical grills with dark plots are the best :D

When I started to watch Mahou shoujo ikusei Keikaku I've noticed this: - Both are about magical girls - Both have traumatic experiences and both are violent - Both Get darker as they go along  

Both anime revolve around Magical Girls, everything may look cute in the beginning but, dark twists can show up at any moment. There is a cute pet-mascot that guides the characters but, can end up acting suspiciously in both anime and Snow White is very similar to Madoka. If you liked one of them, you will probably like the other one, too, since they both are deconstructions of the Mahou Shoujo genre and have a similar theme.

The two anime's have kawaii mahou shoujo with several tragic moments in their story. 

They are both magical girl shows, and it can become very dark quick, so be warned. You may have to wait through some episodes though. 

Madoka Magika and Magical Girls Raising Project are very VERY similar in their ideas and themes. I thoroughly enjoyed both of the shows as they have their cute and happy-go-lucky characters, twists and horrifying dark turn of events. Both shows feature young cute girls who are innocent and colourful, not knowing of the true "magical girl" nature and only viewing it as a pretty TV ideal. They start off very sweet and leading into their desired magical girl transformations, before they slowly start to realise it isn't everything they had hoped it would be. Both of the shows have many extremely beautiful designs and concepts, lovable characters and motives, amazing soundtracks and dark twists all over the place. If you want to be shocked, surprised and indulge in a world of a dark hidden secrets, you would enjoy both of these magical girl shows! read more 

Both involve magical girls being "tricked" into becoming a magical girl by a small innocent looking creature. Both - Have a dark twist to them - Characters have similar personalities - Stand out from other magical girl anime If you love one you will definitely love the other. 

Both are magical girl anime that looks so cute and moe, but it has a tragic and oscure story. Madoka -> Snow White - both are sweet girls who wants to save people. Homura -> La Pucelle - Both wants to protect Madoka/Snow White. Kyuubey -> Fav - Both are the ones who converts girls into magical girls, both doesn't understand human feelings. 

If you're a fan of dark magical girl shows such as PMMM, this is the perfect anime for you. Like PMMM, it's centered around an innocent girl who wants to become a magical girl to make everyone happy but instead gets caught up in the darkness of the world. Now while this anime isn't quite as groundbreaking as PMMM was, it's worthy of it's place in the dark magical girl genre and something I personally really recommend. 

Madoka Magica seems to have inspired the creation of Ikusei Keikaku. Both take the magical girl genre and make it darker, characters in the latter have many similarities with characters from the former and both are psychological thrillers. I have wholeheartedly accepted Ikusei as a spiritual successor of sorts to Madoka Magica(it is definitely a better successor than its sequel that's for sure.) It is a great Anime for those who have watched Madoka Magica and would like something similar as well as those who were disappointed with Madoka's sequel.

Mahou Shoujo Ikusei Keikaku, also known as Magical Girl raising project, is a game that turns players into their magical girl persona! It's a cute magical girl anime until it takes a dark turn, similar to Madoka Magica! Would recommend if you like dark animes. 

They both have very similar traits - They both revolve around magical girls that get deceived - Snow white has a bit in common with Madoka - Both are dark magical girl anime They both go a bit cute at first but then go darker as they go on - both have mascots that aren't what they seem 

It's basically Puella Magi Madoka Magica but they turned up the combat between Magical Girls up to 11 out of 10. 

Madoka Magica and Magical girl raising project deal with cute magical girls going through their daily lives defeating enemies and working together towards hope! 

Both are Magical Girl Anime with a very dark twist. Both feature non-human creatures who are actively recruiting girls to become Magical Girl. Both involve Magical Girl dying while they are doing their duties.  

~ dark environment, dark people, everything is dark..very suffering. ~ the magical girls have to face for their survival.  

- Girls are turned into magical girls by a paranormal entity, with different abilities. - All face for their survival. - A weak girl makes an alliance with a girl who is willing to defend her. Both have a dark environment, showing the darkness of people, the history of suffering and despair of our girls in their attempt to be happy.  

Both are in the magical girl genre that has a dark theme to it. Along with that, they seem to follow a sort of "last person standing" idea. More characters are revealed in MahouIku as episodes progress as well as their powers and back stories to how they became magical girls. 

both anime have the magical girl powers granted by ominous/mysterious "online" entities they engage with (administrators behind a mysterious website vs admins behind a mysterious online "game") characters don't seem to be able to choose what their magical girl superpowers or weapons are, these seem to be mostly randomly decided for them, with some characters being very overpowered compared to others for no particular reason... although mahou shoujo site has an interesting twist on this doesn't exist in ikusei keikau. both lack significant plot structure or character development; most characters are defined only by their tragic backstories which are revealed at a pretty frequent and similar pace. very few of the (surviving) characters have had any character growth by the end of the anime, and the anime is not afraid to kill its characters off for almost any reason. very very few characters have plot armor. instead of any deep plot there is a lot of scenes of emotional or physical torture and violence that happens very rapidly, sometimes gratuitiously, under the simple guidance of the main premise. both are not afraid to and make a deliberate attempt to show fairly graphic gore, or at least implied heavy suffering. (this includes themes such as domestic violence, killing innocent animals, attempted rape, obsessive stalking, cutting/self harm and committing suicide. both shows dont share all the above, i'm just trying to give examples from both shows to give the idea of how explicit they are in their depictions of this subject matter) there is a contrast between sometimes very "cute" scenes and then something very dark happening often, either simultaneously, during a flashback, or immediately after the "cute" scenes. both have the magical girls being forced into or choosing to kill each other, either because they are manipulated into doing it by several various reasons, or because some of them simply have psychopathic character traits and tendencies. most of the characters, even the sanest ones, also suffer from some form of mental illness, have pre-existing trauma or develop trauma as a result of being a magical girl, or they fall into or come from a very tragic life circumstance. in both anime, the "main" or "first" magical girl in the ensemble cast is the weakest at fighting back, shyest, most weak willed etc and it takes a long time for this to change (magical girl site's weak MC actually has more character arc development than MSIK's MC which is...impressive given that neither has much) and both of them team up with another magical girl who they have deep friendship with and who helps them gain some confidence, as well as is stronger and better at being a magical girl, so they rely on this person to protect them. both shows tend to focus on the other characters just as much as the two "main" ones that are introduced in the first episodes and *some* of these characters are more conceptually interesting than the "main" ones. as i mentioned though, the majority of characters don't ever develop past their "concept": the ones that survive and have changes in their character by the end are the exceptions, and many characters die before they could even have a chance to have any character arc growth (if these were actually the type of shows to give them that). a lot of characters are most defined by their own deaths more than anything they did while they were alive, and how their deaths affect the other girls is often the main excuse to move the action forward and make the next shock or twist happen. additionally, some characters are deeply affected or changed by the deaths of other magical girls, whereas there are some characters who are not affected by the deaths in any way that changes their behavior at all. i would describe both shows as ensemble cast anime and within the ensemble, when they are not killing, betraying, or using psychological tactics on each other, they are forming strong alliances with each other or suddenly changing whose side of the battle they are on. both shows have clear themes of those girls trying to "follow the rules" of being a magical girl (no matter how f--ked up those mysterious rules are) vs those trying to "break the rules", or find out what the true mystery behind the dark administrators and bestowers of magical girl power is-- some characters will follow the rules no matter what, while others have a change of heart and thus a change of allies. some of the alliances make a lot of sense, while others do not make much sense at all and characters who should be enemies end up on the same side. "the enemy of the enemy is my friend" is certainly true but in the case of MSS some of the "alliances with former enemies" require more suspension of belief than in MSIK. both shows also have very clear but never main focused undertones of yuri/lgbtq, and at least 1 character (MSS has 1, MSIK has 2) that is heavily coded as being either into crossdressing/genderbending, or is meant to be trans or gay/lesbian. the coding remains somehow vague yet assertive in both cases so which of these labels you interpret them as exactly, comes down to the individual viewer. if you are into seeing these thematic concepts in an anime (which i am) and *IF YOU CAN STILL ENJOY AN ANIME* when if it focuses almost exclusively on showing you these concepts "play out" to tragic consequences, while it (mostly) ignores developing a cohesive, meaningful or original story, and does not have characters with much (or any) depth or development, then i would recommend both shows.  read more 

Simmilarities: 1.Both shows feature a cast of girls that get connected to the world of magic by some form of social media (for MSS its a website and for MSIK its a game app). 2.In both, there is a shitty antagonist that forces the cast to get onto each others tails, killing or eliminating them in other ways. 3.In both shows, there is slight yuri 4.There are many attractive styles shown through characters (in MSS there is menhera, in MSIK there is gothic lolita and a lot more) 5.Both shows are really edgy, dark and have intense scenes. If you are into these things like me then you will enjoy this for sure! A few differences : 1.In MSS the girls that become magical girls are all in middle or highschool while in MSIK the girls are from very young age of 6ish to adult females. 2.In MSS the girls don't have special transformations while in MSIK they have 3.In MSS the girls can use each others magical sticks and so their powers, and even people outside of the magical site can use them.But in MSIK only the choosen girls can use their own unique powers that are part of them basically. 4.While in MSS characters have life points and by using their stick they get closer to deah, in MSIK there is no such thing but if one girl fails to collect more candies than the others she gets disqualified, aka dies.Or gets killed. read more

Both contain middle school girls who have gone through/or are going through hard times, and are magical girls.  

"Is either kill or be killed" summaries both anime rather well. Both are extremely dark and depressing Magical Girl where everyone has to fight for their survival. Both also feature death. 

Survival games with players using gadget / cell phone for fighting each other on the death match On Mirai Nikki, the last survivor will be the next God of Time and Space but on MahouIku there's 8 last survivor .. Both are full of bloodbath and dark story between each character 

Kill or be killed. Both anime will give you several characters and then you can bet which character will survive. Main protagonist must find allies to fight enemies, but not all ally can be trusted. Fear, hate, and revenge will cover every character personality. Blood everywhere, and corpse everywhere. Who will survive? Watch and you will know how difficult to survive with other survivors... 

Both series are about a bunch of people who are suddenly forced into a situation where it's 'Kill or be killed', and they battle it out until only a couple remain. (or in Mirai Nikki's case, one). 

Similar introduction to the series (The first minute or so of the 1st episode) Both are based upon survival games A lot of characters put into the survival games (Mirai Nikki has 12, Raising project has 16)

They follow almost the same plot line. Future Diary and Magic Girl Raising Project both have “magic cell phones”, it’s battle royal, they were specifically chosen to fight. The differences, Future Diary has a Yandere character and it’s much more mature than Magic Girl Raising Project. Magic Girl Rasing Project is way more cutesy but still have the same elements that all battle royal type anime need to have. Also, while Future Diary has more of “insightful cell phone”, while in Magic Girl, the girls each have their own specific powers to help them fight. 

A Black and White Creature forces a group of teenagers to kill one another while acting very cheery about it. also same animation studio 

Both have a similar characters, one as the logo for a game, and one as the puppet that's causing all the trouble. Both of these shows are very dark, and everyone is killing each other to survive. 

-Survival/Killing game settings. -Black and white creature forces characters to kill each other trought different ways (In Danganronpa, introducing motives so that the characters would want to get out of the school no matter what it takes, in Mahou Shoujo Ikusei Keikaku, slowly manipulating them by adding more features to the game as it progresses) -In Danganronpa, each students has an special talent/is the best at way they do, while in Mahou Shoujo Ikusei Keikaku, each magical has an unique magical ability. -Similar protagonist, that have a strong sense of justice, stick with their beliefs and refuse to kill. -Interesting characters that we don't get too much info about, just enought so you care about them. -Same animation studio. -They share a few voice actors (Naegi and Cranberry, Kirigiri and Ruler, etc) read more 

Both of these anime have young adults compete in a killing game where only one can be the "winner". Not only does the mascot character who hosts the killing game have a similar design, but they also use similar tactics to coax the characters into killing each other. Mahou Shoujo Ikusei Keikaku is a magical girl anime while Danganronpa is a murder mystery anime, but you can still enjoy both of them if the "killing game" idea interests you. 

Both feature 16 characters, each unique from each other, in a killing game. Both also have a protagonist who finds themselves a completely normal person at first, but gradually becomes stronger and eventually vows to help others. 

Both are magical girl shows that seem pretty cutesy at the start, but become more sinister as they progress. The magical girls are able to transform using their phones to fight enemies (Yuki Yuna) or each other (Raising Project). While Raising Project has a lot more blood and gore, both shows get very dramatic and the characters suffer.  

The characters use smartphones to transform into magical girls. They are both dark but lighthearted at the same time (a mixture of thriller and sol) 

Just like YuYuYu, this anime is a part of the dark magical girl genre that PMMM made popular. It's centered around an innocent girl who wants to become a magical girl to help people but instead gets caught up in something bigger and darker than herself, just like the heroes of the hero club in YuYuYu. So if you like magical girl anime with a darker and deeper story than what might seem at first glance and loved YuYuYu, this one's perfect for you. 

Much like Yuuki Yuuna wa Yuusha de Aru, Mahou Shoujo Ikusei Keikaku is a another anime within the Mahou Shoujo/Magical Girl genere. They both make us think about where these powers Magical Girls are given are from, and are these beings really benevolent? Who is to say what these girls fight for is "right," even when others are hurt? In fact, why does everyone simply follow this logic that young girls must be the ones to carry out this duty, perhaps at the cost of their lives? 

Both are Magical Girl Anime with a very dark twist. Both gain their ability to transform using their smartphone.  

Both anime may look cutesy at first, but slowly become dark and dramatic. They involve girls who play a popular game, and only certain girls are chosen to have special abilities to compete against each other. The stakes are high, and the consequences of losing are brutal. Wixoss is a card game show, while Raising Project is a Magical Girl show 

People may compare Raising Project to Madoka, but I would say Selector Infected is more similar in plot wise and setting. It's still a bit early to say, but I have enough comparison with both series. - Both series feature games that attract people(especially the girls) - Beginning episodes for both series starts out pretty grim and very dark - They both are more self-evident that they will have a twist. - Girls have to fight each other to "get" to their destination. That's most of the things I can think of for now, but Selector Infected WIXOSS is a good recommendation, if you want a game attraction to be the cause of girls suffering. read more 

Both seem to be relatively cutesy anime, but take a very dark twist near the start of the season. Both anime build on the idea of "Is either kill or be killed" where you have to fight your way to the top while sacrificing or killing others.  

Both animes are magical girl shows that take a turn for the worse. Basically a deconstruction of the magical girl genre, meaning you won't get just your usual child-friendly show like Precure where the worse that could happen is losing a friend, we're talking about something even more darker. Both are promising magical girl shows with amazing visuals and dark undertones. Both also feature a main protagonist who want nothing more but to make others happy, and who live for the benefit of others. I promise you that if you've enjoyed either of these shows, you will enjoy the other.  

Both are magical girl anime that quickly become very dark and dramatic. Expect a lot of violence, gore, and dying. If you like dark magical girl shows then these both fit the bill! 

Both are Magical Girl Anime with a very dark twist. Both have magical girls dying or going MIA while they are on duty.  

Seems all cute but gets alot more darker the more you watch so this is for you who like dark animes and stuff :) 

Although the plots are quite differents, those shows give the same atmosphere: very young girls as mains characters, happy-go-lucky, childish, but rapidly the plot turns into something very twisted where you will find your monthly dosage of blood and soft-horror scenes. 

For the first few episodes, both anime looks like a typical moe anime where everyone is enjoying what they are doing. However, after a few episodes, the show takes a dark turn where all hell breaks loose  

Main character being forced to do some kind of Battle Royale, because of a simple game which he can play on his cellphone. Both involve characters trying to survive death battles with their given superpowers. The only main difference in those two anime is that "Mahou Shoujo Ikusei Keikaku" is (Like its name) a Magical Girl, and "Darwin's Game" isn't 

pretty much the same premise, only difference is that one has magical girls in it 

Both feature a large cast of characters fighting to the death in a battle royale setting. Ikusei Keikaku uses the cute magical girl trope and adds the battle royale trope as a dark twist early on in the show. Juuni Taisen's main focus is the battle royale setting and therefore is set in an abandoned city set as the arena. Both have some pretty "unique" character designs and both have a repeating aspect of showing a character's backstory before said character meets an "unfortunate demise." While not the best written shows, both are very entertaining in similar fashions.

Both animes have main protagonists who are protected by others Snow White(Mahou-Shoujo-Ikusei-Keikaku) and Haru from Akuma no Riddle Both involve a survival game set up by someone/something. Both series have happy girls killing each other. 

Both have a mostly female cast and gxg relationships, the characters have a decently wide age range as well. Both are a battle to kill each other while they try to protect the ones they love even though they’re supposed to be competing against them.  

Granbelm and Magical Girl Raising Project are two magical girl shows about the main character becoming a magical girl in a world where other girls with similar powers as hers battle with each other. 

This is similar to Ousama Game The Animation because both of the main characters have to play a game for survival which shows many horrific death scenes. 

Both shows involve girls with special magical powers who are chosen to fight. In Raising Project, the characters transform into costumes and have different abilities, while in Mai-Hime, the characters are able to summon robotic beasts. As the shows progress, plot twists are revealed and they become darker and more dramatic. Losing your powers comes with a great cost, so the action can become very intense. Both are recommended if you like darker magical girl shows! 

Bokurano and Mahou Shoujo Ikusei Keikaku both series have these similarities: - The protagonists are participate in a game where they acquire an unimaginable power (in Bokurano, control a wick and in MS Ikaku be mahou shoujo), which becomes a deadly game, where everyone could die. Of this game you can not leave, being these forced to participate in this game. - They are forced to perform "good" tasks for humanity, but likewise they can be condemned to die. - A doll, which caused such a game, is the one that explains the rules and helps them to fulfill their purpose. - While the episodes are showing us the lives of the protagonists and the different problems they have both in their life and in the task that they have imposed upon them. read more 

This is an 'Real-Life' RPG Themes .. With Psychosocial-mix on BTOOOM! and Mahou-Shoujo-mix on other side Both story are from popular RPG that have been made into real-survival game.. BTOOOM! has more darker atmosphere than MahouIku, but both are gory and worth to watch
