Brave Beats is the spiritual successor to Tribe Cool Crew. Both are kids' shows which have dancing as the main focus. Several voice actors are shared between the two shows, as the shows were made in very close temporal proximity to one another by a lot of the same staff members. Furthermore, Brave Beats actually has several references to Tribe Cool Crew within it, including such easter eggs as a tea brand with the name and face of one of the Tribe Cool Crew characters on it. Dance is common between a boy and girl in both, romance is shown more between the two in buddy go, but slow paced and more suited to younger children in Brave Beats. There are dance competitions between evil and good to rule over the Danceworld in Brave beats, while in Buddy Go, the boy and girl (disguised as male) compete with each other as both rivals yet teammates.

Both anime are kid-friendly magical girl/boy shows. Brave Beats has a dance theme that goes along with it, while Shugo Chara talks about Heart's Eggs and dreams. In Shugo Chara, the antagonists corrupt people's heart's egg, while in Brave Beats, people are possessed by dance stones. The main characters in both anime have little companions that they transform with to purify the corrupted people and prevent them from causing destruction.

Magical girls/boys are forced to find objects (cards in Fate/Kaleid and dance stones in Brave Beats) by allies they meet. Once a specific card/dance stone is collected, the characters can use that power in battle. Brave Beats puts a dance twist on the Mahou shoujo genre and is geared towards kids, while Fate/Kaleid is for an older audience.
