The main characters that form the trio of these two anime are in the same types (main guy who's wild and rides a bike, blond cool guy and tough girl but with a feminine charm). The monster-of-the-week formula defines the structure of the shows, while in Borgman our characters fight yoma with the help of mecha armors and guns, in Zillion they fight invading aliens with advanced tech and the usual laser guns.
Similar art style with background music that'll remind the viewer he's in the 80s listening to city pop and J-Rock.
