Both are science fiction with a clear cut, adult hero character with high moral standards, some educational content, unconventional spaceship designs, made during the same era.

Both use the immediately recognizable art style of Leiji Matsumoto. The character designs are strikingly similar. - The tall, slender, fragile bass player Stella and Special Agent Joan Randall, - Tall, masculine space heroes Shep and Curtis Newton, - Short and chubby drummer Baryl and handyman android Otho. The space ships and overall animation style are similar as well. Captain Future first aired in France when the Daft Punk members were six and seven years old, so this probably isn't pure coincidence

both animes are sci-fi (space adventure), they are relatively from the same era of animation, only a few years difference.
