Same style, same studio.

Made by the same studio as each other they both have a unique art style that is very gripping. They both also deal with wacky scenarios and plots that for some reason work to make a good show.

It is hard to put into words why these two shows are similar other than their dedication to being over-the-top. What I can say is this: watching NSFA gave me a feeling I hadn't had from watching anime since the first time I saw FLCL, almost a feeling of being a rebel, punk, fight the power! Both kind of stick their tongues out at what came before, both were/are avant-garde.

Outstanding utilisation of animation as a medium. Both series are revolutionary in that they symbolically portray the unending wastelands that is the self-absorbed ineptitude of mankind. Similar quality of art and animation in both. Lots of action. Top quality humour if you're into this sort of thing. Short series.

"Ninja Slayer From Animation" and "The Phantom Ship" / "Yuurei Sen" might initially seem quite different, but both tell tales of vengeance that involve powers of the supernatural. These two shows each have their own unique art-styles. "Ninja Slayer From Animation" has an interesting choice of terrible character art that causes everything to look unmoving and unappealing whilst "The Phantom Ship" / "Yuurei Sen" was animated with traditional paper puppets that give it its 2-D look.

Both feature the story of a man with bottled up rage who would stop at nothing in order to take revenge for their deceased family members by fighting the root of the cause, bigshots at the upper echelons of the mafia/yakuza organization operating behind the scenes as well as indirectly involved small fry for the sake of immoral justice.

"Ninja Slayer From Animation" and "Vampire Holmes" are series of shorts with lots of physical comedy and other gags. They both fit the description of being so bad that it's good with many viewers despising them.
