Stories following the lives of young girls as they learn much about the world around them and human relationships. Their is also emphasis placed on the beauty of nature and the creatures that inhabit it. Also, both are based from novels, feature a young girl and boy, and are animated by ghibli. Truly wonderful stories that portray the hardships of growing up and the many life lessons learned.

These family-friendly shows take place in the forest where the child protagonists have adventures. Watching "Belfy to Lillibit" and "Sanzoku no Musume Ronja" make me want to run off into the woods and be a kid again! They also take you back to a simpler way of life, when there was no gadgets or TV (or even electricity and running water!) but still plenty to do when you ventured outdoors with friends and family members. Can't recommend these highly enough to sit and enjoy with your children!

Take female protagonists, add a magical forest filled with interesting creatures, and you've got two adorable anime series to watch, either alone or with your kids.

Remakes of older stories for children of non-japanese origin that were particulary popular with kids in Western world (Ronja/Pingu). These new reimaginations both employ full 3D CGI animation made with which Polygon Pictures studio was involved. In both the protagonist explores the world around them and interract with those around them (mainly adults).

Both shows may seem different due to Soredemo Sekai wa Utsukushii having the romance/ shoujo genre, while Sanzoku no Musume Ronja is more in the "children show" genre. BUT: Both Soredemo Sekai wa Utsukushii and Sanzoku no Musume Ronja have fantasy/ adventure elements and a comedic, relaxed pace to the show. Both also have an adventurous, strong willed MC heroine as well as similar & great soundtracks and songs played within the anime. Also I believe both shows are underrated anime gems!

These shows are very similar to one another in terms of setting and characters as well as pacing and themes. Both shows feature young, adventurous female protagonists in light fantasy settings. The stories follow the maturity of the girl as she deals with the harsh realities of adulthood and discovers her own identity. They both have a slow and relaxed pace and feature great, well-earned emotional payoffs.

About girl who lives in a forest. She is the protector of life of all things. They will learn the truth about world they live in. Same art style and studio. Studio Ghibl films. One is a full length movie while the other a TV series.
