Both are retro anime about a high-school girl who utterly dominates (and is pressured to participate in) a combat sport (judo/kick-boxing) that she cares nothing about. The main difference being that Yawara is over a hundred episodes long while Ayane-Chan's High Kick was cancelled after only two.

Both are fighting sports anime. Neither really gets into things that usually make sports anime dead boring.

boxing, training, funny coach, fans, main character is a newb who beats stronger opponents wit guts only..

In the grim darkness of the worst timeline, there is only wasted potential. Two series, cut short before they ever had a chance to get going. Excitement, action, girls kicking the crap out of people with their martial arts skills! Watch both and cry about how there isn't a full season of either of these.
