Maps

The main heroines of these anime are extremely comparable in terms of bravery and choice of attire since they share similar old school high fantasy design philosohpy and art direction of badass female warriors in bikini armors surmounting difficult hurdles to attain their goals. 

both have mainly ladies as the main focused charachters, and have the use to fight in mechasuits of various types and weaponry, MAPS differs a bit in how the setup is, Sakura taisen has those jump-in-the-cabin models MAPS has extraterrestial models that physically and mentally connects to the pilot ( almost like Lost universe) and MAPS is far out the most violent. :)
