Dramatic anime where the main female protagonists gradually fall in love with a masked white haired male, though not necessarily fully human. Both anime focus on a mythological aspect and the "forbidden love" of the female and male protagonists. Great art for both anime and great story plot of a bittersweet romance, though Hotarubi no Mori e pulls more on your heart strings, the similarity and uniqueness of these anime prove they are both a must watch.

The other is about a real woman and the other is based on a classic epic but both take place in the Edo period and have some supernatural elements. Both Sarusuberi and Fuse have gorgeous visuals and animation and are a must-watch for those who like historical anime movies.

Also based off the hakkenden novels. The eight half brothers who are now reincarnated in a different time are gathering together (in coincidence). Unlike this movie, the hakkenden anime series doesn't have as much romance--more friendship, family bond stuff.

This anime is not explicitly similar to Fuse: Teppou Musume no Torimonochou, but it is similar in the sense that it takes place in an older Japan. It has a more quiet, solemn tone, and it involves some serious topics like death and childbearing. Unlike Fuse, Shouwa has almost no fantasy elements, but it does have a similar feel after watching in my opinion.

The visuals are similar, both are vibrant and colorful. There is also the connection between a human and an animal.

While not explicitly similar in terms of plot and setting, if you enjoyed watching Bounen no Xamdou or Fuse: Teppou Musume no Torimonochou and want to watch something that has a similar essence, then you will likely enjoy the other. On a surface level, both were directed by Masayuki Miyaki; the art styles are very similar, and so is the music, as both titles had Micheru Oshima write the soundtrack. As for overarching themes, they both have motifs regarding connecting people with one another, visually represented through mail letters. Not only that, another prominent theme present is that all life is valuable whether it be  read more

Here is the land of the samurai , and life in Edo is not easy for some ones with exceptional characteristics such the past always tries to catch up the present, but still the similar atmosphere in both with some differences and the major one can be the aspect of the main characters ( in fuse : he's a werewolf, but a normal human in Saraiya Goyou ), and for sure : both are a nice show, enjoy.

Whimsical tales of animal-human hybrids surviving in the human world, avoiding being hunted by their enemies. Despite the lighthearted nature of both series', the two manage to convey significant emotion and tell meaningful stories without getting too heavy-handed, all while exploring the relationships between the hunters and the hunted.

both have similar settings (fantastic feudal japan) with a plot of romance, adventure and intrigues for power

These movies portray the story of a young lady who falls in love with a "wolf man". While in Ookami Kodomo we follow the story of a young widow trying to raise her hybrid children, in Fuse Teppou we follow a hunter girl who ends up falling in love with her prey, still, the plots deliver a message of true love and are determined to show the harshness that is to a wolf to live amongst human civilization. While Ookami Kodomo focus on slice of life/drama and develops its characters very deeply, Fuse Teppou focus on adventure and fantasy, but both manage to pull  read more

Both anime's plots are from the same time period. Both have to do with Samurai and strong female leads. Similar humor and overall great character driven stories.
