Okay, let's see..
at first, I think its not really similar, its just similar in both hero evil laugh. But when i watch 8 eps of charlotte, i discover that some characters are too similar like Nao + Yusarin = Misa, Yuu = Light (in some case they're similar) and many more ..
and do you know? Some scene in this both are similar if u watched carefully ..
both hero are very potential to rule the world with his power (Yuu with his looting power and Light with his death note). But with these powers too, sometime both characters will looks like the antagonist..
