I heard that this movie is just a recap, and i finish the og series in just 4 days so i pretty much remember the beginning, so can i just skip this and just proceed to evangelion: 2.0?

it shouldnt be an issue but there are a handful of differences, which are all listed on the evawiki. in my opinion tho the animation and makes watching the movie worth it, and the changes help it feel fresh.

No. It’s pretty much the same but the characters act kinda different, so you should watch it so the characters make sense to you in the 2nd one. Plus there’s some extra scenes that will make sense once you finished the rebuilds, which weren’t in neon.

You can, but the visuals is a bit better, so you can still watch it if you want.

ya just skip to 2.0, the only differences are the animation and some scenes but that's it. nothing about the plot really changes.

This isn’t a recap, it’s a sequel. While it technically has a lot of scenes from the OG, it’s extremely different in a lot of aspects. If you went to 2.0 there would be a lot of things that would seem awkward or weird if you haven’t watched 1.0.
The right mindset when watching an anime is hoping that it will break your top 10

I would recomend watching it just if you like Evangelion. It's incredibly cool to see the original scenes with god tier animation, and Ramiel acting like a 4D being is something that you should watch, so if you're going to skip it then at least look for Ramiel scenes in youtube to see how amazing it is

you can still skip through it. I don't remember exactly, but i feel there are still some really minor differences.

It's still a fun movie! The visuals are obviously better and there are some minor changes. If you really liked the first few episodes of Eva, I think you'll enjoy this movie as well.

its all the content up to episode 6 but its 100 minutes total, not 120. so about 20 minutes of the first 6 episodes is cut.

Don't watch the Rebuilds at all. They're good, especially 2.0 and 3.0, but 4.0 is a disgrace to the Evangelion name.

Just because you don't like something does nott mean you should discourage others from checking it out.

Isn't that the point of a critique?

Doesn't seem like you provided actual critisism, you simply said "don't watch it because it's a disgrace".

It has few new scenes which are really important and all characters act slightly different. Animation is great and improved.

I binged all 4 movies in 4 days, so I might be wrong about which scene is in which movie. But one scene is completely different. Few characters motivation is also changed. These are all subtle in first part.

I watched 2 weeks ago, so it is all scenes fresh to me.

There's a lot of slight differences and subtle things that happen that will only make more sense after watching everything but I would not call it a recap, that's for certain.

Plus the soundtrack, the direction, and the animation is still top tier even to this date so it's a worth experience even only for that.
