both are releated to mecha actions and have some romance in them.... Aquarion evol is more of a short harem anime with a complete ending in 24 ep whereas infinite stratos has a long harem and a fitting end is yet to be made....

Similarity:both are based in schools were students fight in Mech to protect the world,
both have romance and love triangles between the students in the schools.
Differences: I.S is a more harem genre as the main character is the only male in the school were as Evol has a bit more monogamy.
also I.S has the school participating in duels between country like a sport rather then war between worlds.
