I don't think a lot of people have made this comparason, but both animes in my opinion are similar in the way that the story and the feeling of the anime are laid out, the main diference is that one is longer are more fleshed out, but both in my opinion are worth checking out.
If you like adventure and a world that isn't quite like ours, this is the way to go.
