No one want that.

But fear not , your wish is already true , since it has been announced 3 years ago (During the 10th Anniversary event) that a Live-Action Series is indeed in the works , done by the creators of Altered Carbon. (Since almost all their works were licensed by Netflix , there is high chances this project also get this treatment)

I think steins gate is easier to get right in live action compared to most other japanese non live action properties.
It looks mostly normal.
Still, I'm programmed to have low expectations about everything so I wouldn't place myself in the "I think we can all agree" camp.

I mean, honestly, live action Steins Gate would definitely have the potential to work. Much more so than other anime.

That being said, Netflix would take that potential, gobble it up, shit it out, throw it into a wood chipper, gobble it up again, shit it out again, and fly it into the sun. Netflix has repeatedly proven that they should not be in charge of live action adaptations.

With the right directors and the right actors, a Steins;Gate live adaptation series can actually work, just look at Dark, it's a German live adaptation time travel series and it's pretty damn good IMHO so Steins;Gate can work as well.

If we have the right directors and the right actors, I don't mind if they do it, I'm not saying they should do it though but I'm open-minded here and I won't mind as long as they do a good job at it.

They are working on a Live-Action of Sword Art Online at the same time , so it was known right at the announcement that it wouldn't be released anytime soon.
That said , there is no news of it since 2018 , so hopefully it died alongside the project of Steins;Gate.
