| My personal favourite was Gankutsuou though that was more because of the Count's character rather than the sci-fi setting. |

| It's very nice, but it's mostly just high-quality otaku appealing, no way is it in the conversation for best sci-fi or science fiction of all time. Even just within anime, you have things like Evangelion, Shinsekai Yori, or Lain which have so much more to them. |
