First adaptation of the manga. Deviated from the story around half way because it caught up to the manga before it was done. During the development of the first anime, Arakawa allowed the anime staff to work independently from her, and requested a different ending from that of the manga.

1-1. Fullmetal Alchemist: Reflections
Special - 1 x 55 minute long episode. PG-13 rated.
A recap of the original series.

2. Fullmetal Alchemist: The Conqueror of Shamballa
Movie - 1h 45 minutes long. PG-13 rated.
Sequel film to the original series. Still follows the route of the anime original events.

3. Fullmetal Alchemist: Premium Collection
OVA - 3 x 7 minute long episodes. PG-13 rated.
Shorts featuring characters in the series.

I want to put a situation in your head, you are someone in Japan who happens apon the Fullmetal Alchemist one shot manga, you read it and enjoy it, you find out that a manga will come out so you pick it up and start reading it.
