Absolute travesty this hasn't been licensed in English let alone not even given a manga adaption or a short series/OVA kinda thing. It's one of the villainess type stories that I think is really well done. I wish there was more, but it doesn't need more. Everything is well contained and it is well written compared to most. It's also more unique than other Villainess stories. Really good.

Daughter of the Emperor
Honestly, it's fine. It has good art and one of the earlier or the Otome Isekai series with daughter/daddy combos so it has a lot of the tropes before it was tropes, but it seriously lacks direction. You'll often see the series progress forward to then flashback to an event we already saw and slightly from a different person's perspective. It feels like it coulda used a bit more time to plan out the total events and execution. The ending also feels a bit lackluster to me.
But, all in all, it's still a fine/good read. Not one I'd consider a waste of time. |

It's good, but I think it has some pacing and writing issues that hold it back from being very good/great. The characters are likable and everything relates to the overarching story/plot which is nice. Nothing that feels like it's dragging. Just that some things feel rushed or that some more development could be good.

I'd say great, but a bit of the story at times got frustrating with the back and forth but not so much that it was bad, just like "COME ON JUST TALK ALREADY" but it was believable for high school bs.
The other downside, to me, is no final kinda wrap up. I'd like to see how the other characters are doing a bit later. I do think Toji deserves a dude, it feels like Sae really grew and became a better person while still having her personality in a way fitting for her (but not bad for others), Ryo seems like he grew up, be nice to see if he actually matured for sure though. That kinda thing. |
