Lots of style, lacking in lots of substance.

It is OK. The arcs may have been a bit more interesting, but considering the number of episodes available for each arc, I think they did well without excelling. I will not watch the specials as that was the least inteesting arc throughout anyway.

Poor. The animation was inconsistent, the narrative was far too one dimensional and the characters didn't convey nearly enough emotion for me to care. I felt a bit bored, to be honest.

I only watched this fully to get it off my dropped list. I wouldn't have started it if I knew how awful it was going to be. Not only that, but even for a hentai, the end was absolutely dire.

Was pretty good. Not such a ground breaking story (twist on human - machines living together), but the action was pretty top-notch and (watching in BlueRay) it looks pretty stunning. Worth watching again, although not quite as good as Shirow's other creation, GitS.

It's a good series but I still think it had too many characters for it's own good. Hard to tell who was good/bad, who was immortal/mortal, and who was in what time period.

Was very enjoyable, but it probably could have been a bit tighter narrative-wise.

While not exactly the most deep of anime, it certainly was good fun to watch and one that you and friends would enjoy watching. A little deeper in story and character development, and a more consistent story in Second Barrage gain it a better score. If more of the same, its not likely to get any higher than an 8 either.

Better than average, but really nothing special. Lacked atmosphere with the complete lack of music throughout which just made it boring. Went by far too quick to get any emotional attachment. Shame because the potential is there.

The comical start soon died out into a rather repetitive, stale and overall boring series. The ideas behind it were very thought provoking, and with more advancement in the philosophy behind human and computer relationships, this could have been a gem. Alas, it seems like a watered down anime to get a few cheap thrills, laughs and that false 'feel good' factor.

Very well made and very enjoyable. The arcs they showed were different from what I've seen so far (im sure Kanon will change that) and the characters, especially Okazaki, are very well crafted and developed without it becoming dull. Having a day off (snow day) to watch the last 10 eps was very useful and I'm glad I saw this. Roll on After Story!

Very enjoyable and heartwarming. I haven't seen the TV series (at time of writting this) and thought it looked great, the characters were likeable and it was executed well. The story wasn't very original, and it was a little predictable (I knew as soon as he mentioned the apartment she had died), but I still enjoyed it. One more for the female audience, I feel.

Stunning. Changed the way I feel about my life and feel that despite some niggles (TORCH on EP for deaths?!?), it was true awe-inspiring. Will always remember this anime.

Wasn't as good as Tomoyo OVA and, of course, AS but it wasnt bad for a one off. Tomoyo just seemed like a better person for Tomoya to be with, which is probably why I prefered that one.

For a one off, it was good. I did always think that Tomoya + Tomoyo would make a better pairing than Tomoya + Nagisa. IM sure After Story will change my mind though. :P

Was great fun but the ending is a complete and utter bitch of a chiffhanger. Look forward to L2. Almost got a 10 but for a few things. The character development, for example, wasn't great for everyone, especially the more influential minor characters suchs as Euphie or Karen. And while it had big moral issues, there was not many underlying elements or philosophy in there. Maybe im too demanding after NGE and GitS. :P

Very similar to Death Note though. But just as enjoyable.

Enjoyable ending and was good fun leading up to the climax. Not really any better than R1 though.

Great fun to watch and the only show i've heard both Sub and Dub and the dub (IMO) is acually better. Substance to go with its style. Only gripe is the main story, which lacks a bit of originality

An intriguing concept that spoilt badly by a poor, mushy romance story, a relatively poor script (if the subs are anything to go by) and clichés which you just shouldn't be seeing from any anime, or more importantly, a vampire based narrative.

Enjoyable and I liked the ending, but some questions were not answered, and there were a few too many fillers for my liking.

Was OK, but unrelated to the main story, so pointless. Funny in places.

Very good. I feel that Suou stole the show in this series and was a brilliantly devised and developed character, so if they do make a 3rd series, I hope she's involved. It was action packed, and intelligent, trying to gain your own interpretation rather than handing it to you on a plate. That requires no brain-power at all. Kudos to Bones and look forward to OVAs and possible series 3.

Was a great series. It would have been a 10 and on my favourites if it were not for a wilt in quality after L's death.

Renji & Chihiro's arc couldn't be more cliqued if it tried. Like RedSuisei said, a paper plane that just happened to be flying was her dairy? And the paper scattered around just happened to be there, scattered? AND that she can remember him despite a conflicting illness saying it's not possible for her to remember, just so they can get back together? Yeah, right.

The answer machine and episode 10 highlighed why the Kei arc was so much better. It tried something a bit different, a bit daring. And it worked. But because they wasted so much time on the Renji arc, the character development and relationship building (especially Kyosuke and his relationship with Kei) were not fully utilised.

Not much other than a teaser really. Loved the music score though.

Decent. New visuals stay true to the original, while still offering a good lick of paint. Although I personally don't think the series fits into films well, and some of the depth of Shinji's pyschological development is sarificed because of it.

Very good, but felt rushed in many ways, such as character development and the conclusion to EVA Unit 03. Ending DID live up to the hype though.

Was forced to watch the dub as couldn't find sub. Im sure If I saw it in Japanese, it would have got a better score. But, NVM. pretty good. Beautifully animated, exciting fight sequences and Aeris always equals win.It just lacked a bit of substance. And didnt have the charm which the game had. I know thats harsh on the film, but still.

Didn't enjoy it. Just didn't feel like FF.

Was fun stuff for the majority. The story, while not hugely original, was fun to watch, the characters were interesting and the art colourful. Bit dis-satisfied by the ending, but deserves an 8.

Great entertainment and wrapped up very well too. It manages to get a good emotional grip on the characters quickly and this helps the narrative move on well, even when the pacing is going at light speed.

It wasn't bad. More of a 7.5 rating, but definately inferior to the the series, simply because the questions left in the series weren't addressed. Then, it goes and adds more. For example, why at the beginning did it show Ed & Al stopping someone with a uranium bomb, only to then suddenly swap to something completely different? And what happened to the bomb? Did it just randomly get lost? Makes no sense!

It was pretty good but nothing special. Although it mixed psychology, action and drama pretty well, it seemed to suffer a little from a lack of direction to the main narrative, and some of the characters weren't as developed or as interesting as others (I.E. Henrietta and Triela were good characters, Rico seemed almost too much like a doll).

Might be a good anime though to introduce to new anime watchers.

Very good fun. The fights were exciting and the humour was appropriate. The things the stopped a 10 were the recaps (very unnecessary) and boxing itself, which while very exciting, was not the greatest representation of what boxing is really like. But, I guess it is anime eh?

Very good stuff. As polished in looks as I'd expect from Production IG and did a great job of keeping me interested, even after I was bowled over by Clannad AS. THe characters were intriguing, the narrative geniunely unique (something that American TV producers could come up with) and the OP coming from Oasis was just genious and fitted the show well.

Disappointing. There were elements that didn't make sense and it just seemed like they were trying to fill the gap between the TV series and the last movie. It was also a bit boring.

I wasn't bad. it does nothing special but served its purpose well enough and left itself open to a 2nd season.

Very good series that tied together very well at the end after what seems like an aimless narrative. Some of it could have been better or further explained, like Arc 3, but all in all, very intense and pretty scary, and Im not really a horror fan!

Was as good as the first series in what it was trying to show. It tied up everything I was curious about, and the way it was done was pretty sublime.

However, there were some points I did find a bit weak or boring, such as Takano's back story. Thats why it gets a 9 and not a 10 and onto my favourites. Still very very good though.

Was ok but a bit boring and didn't tell us anything from between the two series.

Its message is very strong, and to deliver this message in this way is very sad, but if it means it will be noticed, then all the more for it.

You really gotta concentrate to get a good idea of exactly what the film is trying to convey. Less action makes it more of a thought fest. Looks stunning though.

Not bad for a short. Slightly touching, though not overly so.

Good, but lacked the depth of character development from Clannad (although there was two series of that).

Makoto and Ayu, in my eyes, were quite annoying, and the climax left me in limbo. It happens, where you try to create your own reality because your scared of the real world, but Makoto being a fox, Mai fighting illusionary demons, and Shiori surviving a terminal disease, not to mention Ayu being in a coma for over 7 years? And even hints of insest (if you count counsins relationships as that)? It seems far too farfetched and unexplained, even if the supernatural elements were deliberate. Clannad explained its arcs far better, even if it was a bit cliche, and the comedy was better than just 'Insult -> "Auuuu"/"Uguuuu!"'.

It was not bad, but not great either.

Was an interesting story, and had good quality animation and art work. Although it was not always clear what they were or what was going on. My change after multiple viewings.

Again, beautiful although at times, hard to follow. It might just be me though. I am watching this at 2:30am, after all.

Like the others, deep and very beautiful film/short. The characters are all likable and the narravtive is quite intriguing. Hope the sequels contine the trend.

After watching SAC and 2.0 before rewatching, it re-affirmed my love for the series/francise in general. Brilliant theory.

Visually better, but the dialogue was a little more scrambled and less intriguing than the original (I watched the original again after this one).

Stunning. Glad I bought the boxset and Im sure I will come back to this again in the future. Didn't get a 10 as Laughing Man wasn't in all the episodes.

Good stuff, although did feel a bit like an extended episode of SAC, unlike the other 2 movies.

Another great series, although I personally think the first series just shades this one. The Laughing Man case was a bit better.

It was pretty funny with some good slipstick stuff. Konata's dad was brilliantly funny. But its style and humour wasn't all to my taste, so while I enjoyed it, I wouldnt give it any more than a 7. Although I can see why others rate it so highly.

Wasn't bad, but it paled a bit compared to the series. Was funny in parts though, and some of the stories were fun (if a little bit silly).

Was good fun, although there did seem to be a few contextal issues. One set of people were using eletrical equipment or phones, while others seemed to be in the dark ages.

Still was a good watch and would delight youngers kids.

Probably my least favourite Ghibli film so far. The story was a bit generic and the ending was far to abrupt. DId have its moments, and the VOs showed some good emotion, but it wasn't great in my opinion. One for the romance lovers and kids adventures.

Overall, it was enjoyable, had good depth and likeable characters. Some of the episodes were not as consistent as others in terms of content quality, but I can't expect brilliant every episode can I?

The anime overall was OK, considering that the comic elements are meant to be in throughout, I must have laughed once or twice, which to me isn't good enough. The character building was pretty good barring Misaki, who really would have benefiting from having her past revealed gradually rather than all at once right near the end. That strikes me as lazy writting. And, lets be frank, the animation was poor.

Thats not to say I didn't like it. There was a certain charm to the relationship between Satou and Yamazaki which was interesting, but I had expected better overall.

I enjoyed watching it but the thesis that her love for the countryside partially stems from her childhood memories (all of which I believe were bad), and then to decide that after 10 days she MUST stay is a bit hollow. If the beginning had offered more to the idea that her city life was boring/restricting compared to her time in the countryside, I could sympathise more with her wanting to stay there, but without it, ending seemed a bit 'fairytale'.

Down as a 7 for me. Despite the ramblings above, there was plenty worth watching.

Unique, clever and entertaining. The merging of the worlds was cleverly done and was very polished in terms of art style and look.

The ending wasn't the greatest (or could have been explained better) but it wasn't overly confusing and did it's job well.

Its good. It seems very simple at first, in that she is just struggling to adapt to acting, but its more complex than that. You have to concentrate hard to fully understand, which being 2am, I probably didn't get it all. But I did get enough of it.

May have scored higher if the art/animation and sound were of slightly better quality and the film made it clear exactly where it was going. Looked a littlle lost towards the middle before it picked up again.

Saw when I was younger, and at the time, thought it was awesome. Not so much now.

Same as first movie. Awesome when younger, less so now.

Was good fun. Relied on music, like Watanabe's other work, to set the mood and the style of the show. I thought the Jazz worked better with Cowboy Bebop than the Hip Hop did with SC, but it was effective none-the-less and was a good series. Just lacked a bit of depth to the main story at times.

You could tell it was from a hentai game. The structure seems like everything you've seen before, the characters were pretty much faceless and it executed many of its core elements (like psychological) poorly. Same scenes were done well (like Kotonoha abstract rape scene) but there were not enough of them.

It was the same as the first episode of the series, but with no music and terrible animation. And the first ep was hardly the most interesting.

The story was ok, and there were a few chuckle moments there, but it looked like one giant pervert fest. Seems a bit unecessary, hence the 5 rating.

It wasn't bad. Was intended to be more comedic and it made me chuckle a few times. Nothing great though.

The humour wasn't all to my taste but it did pick up towards the end. I was going to give it a 6, but after the decent last 5 or so ep, I'll push it up to 7.

Repetitive and not enough variety. I was bored through most of it. While I would usually give it lower, I'll have mercy and keep to a 5.

Poor. The animation was poor, and the humour by now was just getting silly. Glad its over now.

Very good. Although it was a bit of a downer having to watch the Dub. Will go back and watch the sub at some point.

Missed out too many vital points from the Series for my liking, so I was a bit disappointed.

Really enjoyable. A hell of alot better than the live action one. Although again, had to listen to dub version. Gimme sub and I may raise score if better. :P

Was good fun. Not quite as laid back as the series, but still funny in places. All I will say is that hardcore fans may be put off by how complex it is, instead of just wanting it for the giggles and Mikuru boob fondling.

It was very good, but became less humourus as the series went on and more of a romantic. Asahina was the main comedy, and less of it was made latter in the series.

So, it gets an 8.

It was good to watch and cleverly made, with good art and animation, but it's claim of an original story is not true. It's just a complex re-hash of a time travel story with a little romance in it (which I might add, doesn't quite gel properly to me).

Very charming. More one for kids, but even I loved it. Totaro just put a huge grin on my face and made me chuckle. Good stuff.

I found it very watchable, while not having my breath taken away. Some of the episode improved my opinion immediately(Ep 24), while others had the opposite effect (the ending). But I still enjoyed it.

Was charming and a good example to take for any wannabe animators, imo.

Good stuff. Its unbelievable the amount of flaming this is getting in the forums just because it is not like the VN. I wouldn't go to a French restaurant to eat Pizza and judge it from the original, likewise with an Italian restaurant and Crepes. The is understandable, good fun and has very likable/interesting characters. Only thing that let it down a bit was the animation, but from the looks of things, they were working to a tight budget, so I guess Deen can't be blamed from that. Although some of the minor character could have been a bit more involved too, like some of the servants etc (although this is limited to VN, so not much I can really say about that).

Great stuff. The 4th OVA was brilliant, although the 5th was lacking Alucard and a better ending.
