Insanely depressing. Real hopelessness on display at times. The anime is a tragedy-lite in comparison. I mean, Jun's final sequence...just wow. I could feel the damage being dealt to his humanity. So yeah, there's quality here.

Things got rather messy towards the end plot-wise, but...I simply cannot bring myself to give this anything less than a 10. A truly epic tale. Great setting, too.

An interesting lesson in narrative manipulation. The author, Kago Shintaro, spends a few chapters explaining various ways in which a manga author might trick his readers. Then, as it turns out, Kago has been using all of those techniques on you from the start. The solution to the main mystery is honestly quite ridiculous. But it's supposed to be. And Kago does his best to explain its feasibility. The whole thing is really quite comical, which is typical of Kago. Also, Kago has really done his homework when it comes to whodunits. His knowledge is impressive.

Gantz was absolutely amazing...to begin with. Things became progressively worse after the game scenario was dropped. By the end of the series, almost nothing remained of its former greatness. However, the game-scenario portion of Gantz is enough for me to award it an 8 overall.

Didn't enjoy the ending at all. Barring that, this had the potential to score higher.

This manga is...fantastic.
