Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae wo Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai.
Very touching and enjoyable series with a nice cast. I didn't like the cross-dressing, but I did like the resolution. One thing I'd've liked to see was what happens to the living members at the end and who ends up with who, but otherwise, I liked the show for what it was and found it entertaining throughout.
7 TV 11 solid show dealing with the death of a friend, and the emotional baggage that comes with. Disliked the crossdressing part but otherwise show was great. PG-13

Boku dake ga Inai Machi
Ep 1-4 are extremely well done and has one of the best opening part 1's Ive seen. The issue is around 8-11, there is a lot more rushing and even more manga stuff is cut out. For example, all of Satoru's sorrow over not seeing Airi anymore because his first future doesnt exist. This is made worse by the conclusion and reunion with Airi because the show emphasized Hinazuki far more. Theres also the strange interaction between Satoru and Yashiro and why they care about each other. I would have preferred a cleverer ending instead of one where Yashiro suddenly completely stopped doing crime and where he suddenly needed Satoru. And I do agree that Satoru not having hatred for the guy who killed his mother and friends is off. And then there was a lot left out like what happened to the surgery girl and such. Because of all this I hesitate between a 7 and 8 but think Ill put 7 because it ultimately couldnt maintain what made it great, they shouldve made the confrontation a success for young Satoru and not have the 15 year skip imo, since Kayo was built up so much more in the anime.
7 TV 12 Really great start and middle, but uncertain if ending will be rushed/weird. Such a sweet show and pretty universal for a lot of audiences imo. Contd in comments. R

Since i think many fans of anime and such (like myself) do so as an escape, I also identify with Rikka wanting to escape in this fantasy world, away from the death of her father. I find myself a bit like that with regards to real life.
8 TV 12 Really liked the development of Rikka and Yuuta's feelings toward each other and how they both started as friends. I also enjoyed side antics like Nibutani's and how Rikka uses her chuuni side to escape from the death of her father. Since I think many of PG-13

Code Geass: Hangyaku no Lelouch
Love the premise of the show: banished prince plots a rebellion with the aid of a country and gradually builds up an army under the mask of a vigilante hero. The theatrics, drama, and just pure epicness with timely music really pushed the memorable moments up in my book, wowing me as a kid and even for several rewatches afterward. I enjoyed the side characters and such as well, though I wasn't crazy about Suzaku's betrayal ultimately nor for the introduction of VV at the end.

Code Geass: Hangyaku no Lelouch R2
Though there are admittedly a lot of questionable things in the series like the one million zero suits they had, Lelouch not using his geass in the beginning of the series to enslave everyone earlier and Lelouch still pretending to be a student, I still really enjoyed the series and found it to be one of, if not the most, entertaining series I have ever laid my eyes upon. The characters were enjoyable, the storyline was fun, the epicness was through the roof in many scenes, the music was great, and the animation was solid. Didn't care for the mechas or for Suzaku, but others like Kallen made up for it.
10 TV 25 though the ending was sad, it did serve as penance in some ways too. I just wish some of the promises made (like to the student council) could've been fulfilled. Also, its not like Schneizel's plan was any worse than Lelouch's. R

Don't care for jazz, don't care for space, don't care for episodic plots. This series didn't even have any good humor to save it. The brief battles with Vicious were interesting and some other side things, like the crazy robo-clown or whatever, also were entertaining, but overall, the series fell flat and wasn't very interesting, character or plot-wise.
5 TV 26 Eh, its okay. It tries to be cool, but its not very interesting to me. The jazz is okay, but its "hipness" doesn't keep me entertained. R

Cross Game
What a heartbreaking first episode. I love Wakaba and Kou's relationship, and I loved how Kou wanted to fulfill Wakaba's dream. But I didn't like his relationship with Aoba. I get that they're similar, but I really wish they'd just hung out a bit more rather than the occasional forced meeting here or there. I feel like tsunderes are only enjoyable if they honestly spend time with the MC instead of being tsunderey throughout the whole show.
6 TV 50 One of the most emotionally charged first episodes I've ever seen. But the pace needs to be faster, and Aoba needs to be less tsundere. How can I like the ship if all their moments are her yelling and distrusting Kou? I understand its due to Wakaba tho... PG-13

Danganronpa 3: The End of Kibougamine Gakuen - Mirai-hen
Cons: dislike the char designs as the color palette is much more bland than DR1&2 all black and white, and personality wise people feel too similar too, the whole killing game again didnt feel as well timed esp the first death (in 1&2 I felt a stronger connection to Maizono and Byakuya before their first deaths but not here), also just prefer teens i think, also pushes suspension of disbelief how conveniently all the guards were killed and entrances blocked. Also didnt like how Naegi was hit and meeting was adjourned.

Pros: conclusion to one of my fave stories and traitor stories tend to be pretty interesting - hope it picks up/improves. I suspect a sdr2 anime wouldve been the better pick though.

EDIT: Upon finishing, I really liked how they fleshed out a lot of characters like Munakata and even Juzo and the ties to other parts of the series, and the aid in concluding the series/games. Didn't care for so much brainwashing but ultimately enjoyable. The most brilliant part is the NG codes - the idea that you die if you do a certain action is an ingenious idea that I'd like to see in more literature/fiction, and it lead to some awesome moments. Its manipulation through this season was fantastic and was what saved it most in my eyes.

But I enjoy the references. Hope tension picks up though and the transition into true despair is smooth. I also want more Nagito scenes alongside Hajimes but itll be hard with such a bloated cast and no core chars truly dying (an advantage of the others was that as the big cast shrunk due to deaths, other living members could get more focus but that prob wont happen here)

EDIT upon finishing: Ultimately didnt care for how much brainwashing was in the series, but I still love Komaeda's antics and actions so much (I esp love that it took the strongest char in the franchise to take him down), and it was a nice background to Mirai and Game 2. That said, it was ultimately too bleak/grim for my taste and wasn't actually as interesting intrigue wise. There's not as much tension, and I dislike brainwashing in general as a plot device.
6 TV 11 Does a good job maintaining the feel of the chars (minus the impostor) from DR2 and interesting how it appears the homeroom teacher and Chiaki are the true MCs (though I assume Hajime will be more prominent later) fanservice is annoying but I (contd) R

Death Note
I'd say the start is very good, until Misa is introduced. She was a bit annoying, and I didn't like that Light now had an advantage in the battle against L. I would've preferred to see them fight 1v1. The second half was so ehhhhhh. I didn't like Light's total fall into darkness, and I didn't like how despite the evidence against him, the others didn't do anything to halt or slow him down, instead going with an all-or-nothing gamble. L was also just a lot more entertaining. So decent show but too many weaknesses.
4 TV 37 Dislike death and went downhill after L's death. Also Misa was annoying as hell. Early on was its best. R

Digimon Adventure
Part of my love for this show is probably nostalgia, but having rewatched it subbed (which btw is superior to the dub a fair bit imo), I was surprised how many moments emotionally resonated with me. When Taichi realizes he could die going through the electrified fence in Etemon's arc, but he does it anyway to rescue his friend Sora, it was so touching, and I love that that scene activated his crest of courage the first time.

I also loved Yamato's scene in the river before he fights Taichi, when he questions his purpose and why so many digimon have to suffer.

Also loved Hikari as a character and how strong willed she was, sacrificing herself for others and Gatomon/Tailmon's change around Hikari.

Mixed feelings toward Takeru now (ironically, since he was my favorite as a child) because he abandoned Tokomon/Patamon when Taichi went to the real world and was mean to him when he and Yamato were riding the train. He also cried a lot in my opinion.

Loved Leomon's sacrifice and Wizardmon's too, as well as lots of climactic evolutions like Angemon's/WGreymon's/MGarurumon's, etc.
7 TV 54 Loved Vamdemon/Myotismon arc, loved HolyAngemon's climactic appearance, loved the return to the digital world and their allies gradually dying, and just liked the cast of 8 (okay I hated Mimi...) (continued in Comments) PG

immediately if they could. Lots of forced angst, and changed characterizations. Sora was originally tomboyish but we see no signs of that. 02 showed her and Yamato together but now theres a love triangle with her Yamato and Taichi just for the drama. Since when does Angemon punch? Also why act like Digimon are some hidden thing? The fucking world saw them in 01 and 02. No mention of 02 kids despite being in the plot. Lots of other issues I can be bothered to write.
2 Movie 1 Doesnt capture vibe of original, and I cant believe Taichi would be worried about such petty property damage when there're lives at stake. Also makes no sense why all 8 kids didn't just go straight to perfect/ultimate levels (contd in comments) PG-13

Digimon Adventure tri. 2: Ketsui
A number of issues: Togemon's attack conveniently hits the helicopter when in the past using his attack only shot in one direction. This was highly unnecessary and clearly done to add fuel to the "Digimon are bad" subplot very forcefully and untastefully. The final two mega evolutions were sudden and out of nowhere with no STRONG emotional catharsis like the original series, and it felt very convenient and sudden. And I reallllly disliked how Gomamon and Togemon (child and adult levels) could take on Imperialdramon (ultimate/mega level) and survive his attacks, esp Gomamon taking his blaster. Like wtf. How can I believe this tension if this mega level's attacks do fucking nothing? Let see what else...more unnecessary and forced angst from lots of characters. Like Mimi is told shes egocentric...so she goes off on her own and decides to selfishly discard Sora and Mei's efforts on the cafe. Jou cries about being chosen to fight again and wont go because the others will "be annoyed he didnt show up before" - if hes almost an adult, he ought to know not doing anything wont solve his problem. And yes, all the children had this issue as kids - "why do we have to fight?" I dont want a rehash of the same drama. Then the unnecessary cafe scenes which were neither funny nor enjoyable imo. Even the fanservice was unnecessary. Since when does Koushiro show that much interest in Mimi except for movie one, ESP after telling her off just earlier. Like wtf. Wave to handwave your supposed social issues away like that. And seriously, all this time and Yamato hasnt asked Taichi once why Omegamon's fusion failed? Also again...why not use a perfect level Lilymon vs Ogremon? It was shown that later evolutions are possible already. No one asked how this new Leomon knew them either or if he had old memories or how he stayed in this world. I also strongly dislike how theyre trying to show three new chars in the two adults and Mei+her digimon. It bloats the cast and I think concentrated development on the core 8 would be better. And wtf - as if guns will work. And how the police conveniently let Mimi and Mei go through the barrier, as well as Ichijouji. Ichijouji's presence is also irritating as this movie series has completely IGNORED 02 yet kept its plotline and characters in tact. In that case, they cant go about ignoring the 02 characters and saying nothing about them like because it creates the fan question "why have they never talked about Davis/the others and asked for their help too?" Didnt like the forced humor of how cute Meicoomon was either, like her wooing Leomon scene.

Probably some other issues. Best parts were Hikari's roles (seriously, why the fuck do all the kids stand around the computer instead of getting Jou so Gomamon can evolve? Okay, Koushiro is understandable but dam the useless others), Tailmon hugging Patamon, Koushiro being realistic and telling Mimi off, Yamato being annoyed at Jou, and maybe some small scenes here and there like Takari shipping scenes.

Digimon Xros Wars
Best Moments:
Kiriha VS Gravimon
Xros Heart and Blue Flare VS Gravimon
Taiki and Shoutmon VS Tactimon
Shoutmon's death
numerous other great scenes

Best Characters:

Taiki - probably the smartest Gogglehead compared to the previous Digimon leads, as he tricks the water Death General and comes up with clever tricks and Digixroses. He is brave and has a kindheart - he "can't turn his back" on anyone in need.

Kiriha - initially cold and arrogant, he gradually changes as the series goes on, seeing Taiki initially as a possible subordinate, then as a rival and enemy, and finally as a ally and friend.

Shoutmon - aims to be the Digimon King. While initially seeming conceited, it is revealed that he wants to become King to protect his friends and other weak Digimon and to have a peaceful, happy world, just like Taiki.

Apollomon - the strongest Death General with a heart of justice, Apollomon plots to overthrow the kingdom and usher in an era of peace. However, upon his death, Taiki mourns that no one will know of his kind heart that protected the Digimon of his kingdom as best he could.

Beelzebumon/Ba'almon - reborn Angel of Death. Ba'almon initially lived with Angel Digimon, praying to the Goddess, but he was the only Digimon whose heart was not recognized for its courage and justice. After the Angel Digimon he lived with were possessed, he was forced to kill them all, including his best friend Angemon. Going on the hunt for the possessor type Digimon, Beelzebumon was assigned to kill Taiki. But when Taiki comes upon the Goddess' statue and she recognizes him, Ba'almon changes and chooses to protect Taiki. Eventually, mortally wounded fighting for Taiki, he tells Taiki to leave him. He eventually sacrifices himself to protect Taiki and the others, and the Goddess rewards his noble heart by reincarnating him as Beelzebumon. Beelzebumon later gives his life to ensure that Taiki and the others can escape the Digital Underworld.
9 TV 30 Best moments: Xros Heart and Blue Flare VS Tactimon and he seals of their exit so it becomes a duel to the death, when Taiki becomes a warrior of the goddess and saves Va'almon (as well as Ba'almon who repents), Kiriha's general transformation, Omegamon's PG

Loved lots of things in this show like Shoutmon finally evolving at the end of S1, when Yuu tries to kill Taiki, when Kiriha fully shifts to being good, when Deckerdramon revealed that Kiriha had more love in him than Taichi, and numerous other scenes.

Best digimon series imo but DO NOT WATCH XROS WARS HUNTERS THROUGH TIME - its terrible. At most, watch it for the last two episodes with the crossover between multiple series.
9 TV 24 Loved Kiriha vs Gravimon and his full transformation from initial enemy->rival->unwilling ally->ally->best friend and how Taiki relies on him at the end (when Taiki prepares to die and asks Kiriha to finish the mission if Taiki doesn't return), also scene PG

Was an okay watch but not crazy for this series. I guess the typical "perverted hero who has badass moments" kind of show doesn't really keep me enraptured, and I didn't feel very entertained plot-wise, humor-wise, or relationship-wise. I did enjoy the girl with different colored eyes, but otherwise, it was very meh.
6 TV 43 Eh. Thought this was a bit overrated for a show. Dub version was okay, albeit not that engrossing and not that funny. It tried to have funny ecchi but failed a lot. I like the bichromatic eyed girl. R

love the moment phoenix shows his notebook to mia and it shows how many names and lawyers hes looked up for her sake, and i love his own reason for becoming a lawyer and his eventually remeeting Edgeworth. I love the ties to their childhood.

EDIT upon finishing: Loved Franciska at the end, I think she became my fave char. Idk why...maybe because shes strong on the exterior but weak inside? Fave cases were Von Karma and the Circus one. I liked both for the final reveal in the courtroom of the suspect holding definitive evidence - so epic. And both were emotional in ways too. Von Karma made Edgeworth question his sense of self as a prosecutor and whether he was guilty of a sin years ago, and the Circus one showed the transformation of the attitude of the circus after Max (who appeared obnoxious) was revealed to have willingly decreased his salary to increase the others' and be more fair to him. This coupled with the early scene where Phoenix searched for lawyers to Maya, which was really sweet, made the series overall pretty enjoyable. Didn't like the last case much though - thought De Killer should've just gotten his target in an isolated location, logically, rather than his convoluted method to blackmail Phoenix.
7 TV 24 I forgot how emotional it made me from the game and it reminds me a bit of DR in a good way, nice adaptation so far. PG-13

Very entertaining watch and a nice continuation of Ippo's tale. One issue I have is that the series is a lot of matches and very long, but I do also appreciate just how gradual it is. Hibike! Euphonium
Cons first: disliked Midori and Hazuki (both felt shallow, esp Hazuki and her romance) and there were so many girls/chars I lost track of who played what and such. Didnt like the music itself that much despite being a music show, though did love when Reina played Dvorak's piece in episode 4 or so. The final piece itself wasnt my kind of music though

Pros: tackled school issues really realistically, like Chihayafuru and Tari Tari, and I think I prefer this over both Tari Tari and Shigatsu for that. The blossoming friendship between Reina and Kumiko was also sweet, how they became closer and I LOVE when they back each other up/Kumiko claps for Reina and both help each other out when down. I loke it didnt force too much romance and the drama, albeit a smidge forced at times, was also very tastefully done. Also enjoyed Asuka and her antics/behavior, though Kumiko's change and newfound desire to be special (and frustration and understanding Reina's frustration in ep) was a wonderful circle to see and possibly the best part of the show

Surprised at the end though as didnt think the band would continue to nationals, but they deserve it. Many side stories were also quite enjoyable like Aoi and Kaori's bittersweet stories, realistic but sad and also very interesting and emotional.
6 TV 13 Reminds me a bit of Tari Tari and Shigatsu. Hoping itll be better than both, but even being on par with them will be good. See comments PG-13

Hunter x Hunter
In addition, did a comparison of the manga/2011/1999, and the 1999 did scenes much more slowly...which I actually quite enjoyed. Scenes like Leorio + Gon were really given more time to develop together so the early character development is actually better IMO. Also added/changed scenes like the assassin revenge girl after Killua in the 2.5 phase was actually fairly tense and interesting, as well as the way Gon forced Netero to use his right hand was more interesting and exciting too. Then things like clips when Menchi talks about Hanzo and it clips to him doing push-ups - that felt more thematically cool. But 2011's dialogue is more loyal to the original and a slightly better adaptation at the material, like having Hanzo's goal as a hunter and what Tompa did. But things like 1999 Killua's bombs and the added phase on the shipwreck island when they fight off the hurricane (and was the first team up of Hisoka saving Gon and Illumi aiming Kurapika) was brilliant and awesome in hindsight. So yes, 1999 wins more in my heart.

Another small thing is that I think Gon's restriction power up against Neferpitou and Nanika's wish granting were the biggest "stretches" that I didn't enjoy, and those arcs aren't in 1999. That said, 2011 does have more arcs and episodes, and seeing stuff like Leorio almost succeed Netero and Ging's words of wisdom to Gon were nice, as well as Killua's growth and eventual goodbye.

Both 1999 and 2011 are great though, but I'd say 1999 is more enjoyable. I have however had a newbie friend try both and was told 2011 is more swallowable because of its faster pacing and more recent animation. But to me, I think I'll probably always hold 1999 in a higher regard.

However 1999's halfway point betweens of a colored face transformation is more applicable to the manga than the learning the HxH language and I prefer its classic feel and look. IMO anyway.
10 TV 62 Only regret was some things left out from the manga like Hanzo's goal as a hunter, but otherwise best shonen I've ever watched, and the music is superior to 2011 (not reheashed repeatedly for the op song) imo so I liked it more than the 2011. (contd) PG-13

Hunter x Hunter (2011)
Loved the story as a child and love it still even now. I actually like the 1999 version more, but I think the 2011 version had some small things I appreciated more: the ant arc and election arc, Hanzo's revelation of his goal during the Hunter Exams, Gon actually on-panel punching Genthru. But the 1999 version had a better soundtrack in my opinion and I enjoyed its gradual pace more. Overall, its a bit of a wash I guess, but both are great.

I also do appreciate a lot of scenes in this that werent in the original - Killua's moment of truth when he confronted a strong enemy but couldnt bring himself to leave Gon for dead. I like Ging's message "enjoy the detours in life because those are truly the moments that make the journey worthwhile" or so went the quote. This also gives a lot more closure than 1999 did - we see Gon meet his father, Killua come to terms with his identity and friendship, Leorio has been very successful on the path to being a lawyer, and Kurapika has reclaimed a few of the eyes. Admittedly theres a lot of loose strings, but these tiny detours made the story very satisfying in many ways.

Two recap episodes are things I dislike, but the animation is generally higher quality than 1999, though that one has some decent animation that I didnt mind. For a show thats 148 episodes though...this was quite well done given the original had around 60+ some ovas so maybe 70-80 ish?
9 TV 148 disliked Alluka's wish granting powers and Gon's restriction power up, but loved the rest of it. Also wish the music actually changed more often and felt the characters were slightly more cheesy than in 1999 so overall I like 1999 more by a bit. (Contd) PG-13

This is probably the most "shonen"y arc in the traditional sense, but I think I really like how complete and amazing it felt to see the growth and intelligence Gon and Kilua had and applied to their battles. Things like Killua's yoyo and their attacks coming into their own was great. In addition, it was beautiful when Gon talks of Killua being his best friend.

Then awesome side stuff like Killua taking and passing the exam with ease is fun and cool too. (and seeing the guy from Yorknew was interesting as well! I like that Togashi doesn't forget that stuff.)
10 OVA 8 Loved Gon and Killua's growth in the video game world as they gradually get stronger and defeat Bomber and win the game. Favorite HxH arc personally. (contd) PG-13

I look forward to the future and hope for an arc in HxH's future like this. What this arc excels at IMO are two things: a) HUGE tension of a far greater force than the protagonists b) seeing the growth and evolution of the main 4 protagonists as well as the strength of their TEAMWORK, which is just beautiful and epic. There's also their deep friendship, which you REALLY see, and I just love how much they're willing to sacrifice for each other. In addition, the Spiders are such an amazing enemy organization - so few enemy organizations are shown to have such deep friendships.

Its actually really rare and touching how much they care for and lament Uvogin's death. It humanizes them so well and makes them so much more complex.

Lastly, its interesting to see so many side things going on that tie in, such as Gon VS Shizuku in arm wrestling and Hisoka's ulterior motives.
10 OVA 8 Yorkshin City arc is possibly the most tense and overall best arc (though not my fave); it also does a great job spotlighting Kurapika. (cont) PG-13

Kiseijuu: Sei no Kakuritsu
Good for a thriller but really frustrating some of the overreactions. I was disappointed with Migi's miracle return against Gotou, and I disliked the gore quite a bit. I also thought Shinichi was rather stupid for not using more means at his disposal like Uda. They never explained why that other girl could send them too, and I esp hate how the mass murderer somehow got past the cordon when there were so many officers. Overall, I feel like it tries to be deep and a suspenseful thriller, but it fails to elicit that emotion from me. I also just dislike Shinichi - I prefered him with glasses, as his character shift was dislikable. He changes attitude and looks made him feel like a diff char and I didnt enjoy that. At the least, it was fairly exciting, but I didnt care for most characters except Tamura, the cop leader, and the girlfriend and maybe some others.
3 TV 24 I feel like they kept trying to send messages about what it means to be human and human nature, but I didnt care for it. A lot of humans made stupid decisions too like turning their back on the killer. Also why did they stop doing the hair pulling thing? R

Appallingly stupid and reminds me of AoT with the zombie esque theme. Its also stupid they dont have a better system for preventing trains before they reach the town. They should have an outside stop.

Anyway, those are thoughts on episode 1. Ep 2 was better as theres nothing as stupid.

Okay after 12 eps theres a lot of stupid or illogical moments imo but its better than AoT at least, though thats not saying much. The flow and pace and imo most chars are better. I esp loved kurusu and ikoma teaming up at the end and kurusu is prob my fave because of his over change in attitude and steadfastness. 8 Movie 1 Best Naruto movie showing one of my favorite parts from the part I series, Naruto and Sasuke's friendship. (it was honestly touching back then) Naruto's mouthed words to Sasuke at the climax were really touching, that he'd definitely save him, as well as PG-13

8 TV 20 Needs actual romantic progression but still very lighthearted/funny/enjoyable romcom. I prefer Onodera since she & Raku liked each other without external stimuli and they liked each other for similar reasons about each other. That's a more true love imo. PG-13

Rurouni Kenshin: Meiji Kenkaku Romantan - Tsuioku-hen
It was really touching watching the two fall in love and learning Kenshin's backstory. It was also tragic, her death... But because the love and relationship was so good, that did make up for it a bit. Also, since I knew this was Kenshin's tragic backstory going in, it helped cushion the blow of death. Overall enjoyable and highly recommended for fans of Rurouni Kenshin series.
7 OVA 4 I personally found this really romantic albeit tragic. I nice precursor and highly recommended for people who enjoyed RK the series! It explains a lot and is well told. R

I'm probably in the minority when it comes to disliking Miyazaki, but I'm gonna stand by my opinion. His style of movie is probably just too philosophical and artsy for my taste. I feel like a lot of his movie plots don't make much sense and are meant to have some "greater meaning" that I miss. I often find myself confused and uncertain in his films, and its not an enjoyable experience.

Steins;Gate
Actually watched up to 17, then dropped because I couldn't take the constant deaths, then came back and was glad since I loved the ending. I love how the two get together and Okabe manages to find a way to save everyone after failing so many times. I also like the love that develops between him and Makise Kurisu and found it rather touching.

I found Okabe's desire to save his best friend Mayuri so beautiful and sweet, time jumping dozens and dozens of times to find a way to succeed...and then when he finally does...he learns he has to sacrifice Makise Kurisu, the person whos been helping him the most in this whole ordeal. And this is just so touching and sweet when at the conclusion he finds a way to save them both. His best friend and also the person he loves most...I love the romance of time jumps (also why I loved Futurama at its best) and also the platonic but deep friendship with Mayuri. The sacrifices made were so worthwhile albeit sad at times, like Fayris not changing the past and having a dead father for ten years.
9 TV 24 Watched 17 episodes, hiatused for three years, came back and finished, and damn, that ending was so sweet. When everything finally works out after all the deaths, its so relieving. Rewatched again fully understanding and loved this (continued in comments) PG-13

Steins;Gate Movie: Fuka Ryouiki no Déjà vu
Now we see things from Kurisu's PoV and it makes for a nice contrast with series from Okabe's point of view. I wasn't crazy about her meeting the young him and kissing, but I thought it was okay since it made sense. Overall, I like the romantic relationship between the two and how far they were willing to go for each other. This was probably the best element of the original show aside from its slice-of-life aspect and its shown well in this movie.
8 Movie 1 Great shift, showing Makise going through what Okabe went through. Very sweet, though the kiss could be considered strange given their age difference. Still really liked this. PG-13

Also I wish they went further with the subplots of antiNext hate and people who were split between killing criminals and keeping them alive.

but I did like that Haruki confessed so soon to Setsuna, and I like how he was torn up about it through college, until he finally got his catharsis in CC when he fully confessed to Setsuna's family (and was beaten down for it). And then he could finally release his fully feelings for Touma, which I thought was always really sweet, that the two were always watching and liking each other.
8 TV 13 I take into account Coda and Concluding Chapters when I rate this show, since they probably wont get animated. I really like Haruki's love for Touma and the reverse, as well as the theme of "love that cannot reach". Yeah, the cheating is messed up, but I PG-13
