'Mars Red' Additional Cast Announced

The official website for the TV anime adaption of the 2013 Mars Red stage play revealed five additional cast members on Friday. The anime is scheduled to air in 2021.

Sounosuke Nakajima: Hiroshi Yanaka (Mahoujin Guru Guru)
Misaki: Ayahi Takagaki (Sword Art Online: Alicization - War of Underworld)
Shinnosuke Tenmaya: Sachi Kokuryu (Mob Psycho 100 II)
Rufus Glen: Makoto Furukawa (Haikyuu!! To the Top)

Previously announced cast include Akira Ishida (Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu) and Kenichi Suzumura (Owari no Seraph) who are reprising their roles as Takeuchii and Suwa from the 2013 and 2015 stage productions of Mars Red, respectively.

Kouhei Hatano (Freezing Vibration assistant director) is helming the series at Signal.MD. Junichi Fujisaki (Blood+) is in charge of series composition and is penning the script. Original creator Bunou Fujisawa is serving as the sound director alongside cellist and music composer Toshiyuki Muranaka (Sword Art Online: Alicization).

Yukari Takeuchi (Kimetsu no Yaiba animation director) is adapting character designs from original character designer Kemuri Karakara (Doten Ni Warau) who is also working on the manga adaptation of the series.
