The official website of Oushitsu Kyoushi Heine (The Royal Tutor) announced an anime film for the franchise on Tuesday. Produced by Tear Studio, the film will feature an original story that takes place following the events in the TV anime, and is scheduled to open in theaters in Japan on February 16, 2019.

The film will also feature two new characters: Ivan and Eugene Alexandruwitsch, the twin princes of the Romano kingdom. The main staff and cast will reprise their roles from the TV anime.

Oushitsu Kyoushi Heine adapts Higasa Akai's comedy slice of life manga of the same title, which began serialization in GFantasy in November 2013. Square Enix published the 11th compiled volume on July 27. The 12-episode anime adaptation produced by Bridge aired last Spring.

Yen Press has been publishing the manga digitally in English since August 2015, and plans to release the ninth volume on Tuesday. Funimation licensed the anime in North America and shipped the series on a Blu-ray and DVD combo pack on June 19.
