The mythological base, the young characters various temperaments and dramatic backstories, the ideas battles rendered through "super-powers", the mysterious but charismatic antagonists (only the latter ones suffer from a lack of characterization)... each of those things come together to make you forget the average/bad drawings (who tend to be better around the start of the last narrative arc). You suffer with those brave young men through the hardships they stumble on and pray for them, you hate or love the ennemies... and at the end of this long journey, you are sad to leave them in this manner.
