Anime Adaptation of Web Manga 'Eiga Daisuki Pompo-san' Revealed as Film

The wraparound jacket on the Shougo Sugitani's Eiga Daisuki Fran-chan: Nyallywood Studios Series, the spin-off manga of Eiga Daisuki Pompo-san, revealed last Monday that the anime adaptation of Eiga Daisuki Pompo-san that was announced two years ago will be a film.

The film is being produced by animation studio CLAP, with Ryoichiro Matsuo (Kono Sekai no Katasumi ni) credited as the producer.

Sugitani launched Eiga Daisuki Pompo-san on his Pixiv page in April 2017, and the series was subsequently published in pixiv Comic. Since its launch, the manga has been viewed over 500,000 times. Kadokawa released the second compiled volume in September 2018. During the same year, the manga ranked tenth place with 28 points at the 11th Manga Taisho Awards. The Eiga Daisuki Fran-chan: Nyallywood Studios Series spin-off manga began its serialization in pixiv Comic in July 2018.

Commemorating the release of the second volume, a commercial by CLAP aired for a week on Tokyo MX and Sun TV.
