If you're as new as I am to manga, read this one carefully, take your time with it.
They jump back and forth in time with a really high pace and it doesn't help that the character design is pretty simple, confusing you even more (as some characters look very much alike, at least in my opinion). I had to read this twice, not a good sign in general, but when I fully understood what was going on it turned out to be a really decent yuri. It's nothing intellectual, no revelations about life, but... It's a decent little drama about love and its complications nonetheless. (Quote) "Well, it is fun, but as I get glimpses of what lies ahead for us, Tsugumi's words hurt a little, too. But if her frank letters reveal her heart, then this mountain of empty letters must feel like love-letters, too. Counting the days until I can see here again is like waiting for the inevitable end of a romance. You can try to make it sound romantic, but really, it's just lonely." That's pretty much how "deep" this manga goes, nothing that will stab you in the heart and leave you broken, but it's scratching the surface melancholy and gives you some insights on the world around us… Ugh, I’m just rambling, ain’t I? |

And the the worst point, it touches the subject of suicide; but for that to work, we need to get to know the characters and that's lacking in "Line". We don't feel anything for the suicidal-characters, which is kinda annoying. |

Holy shit, this is a great fucking reminder why hentai generally suck big time. There's NOTHING to be found here part from over the top lesbian sex. Yes, you shouldn't expect much from hentai, but stuff like this is just beyond bad in my opinion. I can't stand one dimensional characters, idiotic settings, lame excuses and etc; and this is plagued by it.
--- Episode 1 & 2: Big fucking reminder why hentai generally sucks big time. I mean... There's nothing here. And the coprophilia elements, why? Just why? Why is this a trope in yuri hentai? I just don't get it. Episode 3: "I will forever curse the blue sky." is probably the best thing about this whole episode, and it's just a silly quote. Part from that there's sex, sex and some more sex. Boring and over the top but milder than the first episodes, but if that's what you're looking for, this episode might appeal to you. Episode 4: One and two continued, egh... For fuck sake. Not as over the top though, that's a bonus. But still... Episode 5: More one dimensional characters and more tropes... Why am I doing this to myself? This is so painfully bad! Episode 6: More characters, interest level "Pebble". As for the rest, repeat previous episodes. Episode 7: Oh? Something that resembles development? Amazed, but still bored. Episode 8: Spit, spat, sput. I don't understand squat from this episode. Are they have a "underground book circle" or what the fuck is this? And why add more coprophilia elements? Damn, cutting your wrists seems more exciting that this. Episode 9: I fucking hate myself for bearing through this pile of crap for this long. Episode 10: Or is this actually part 9? I've no fucking idea anymore, around page 180-ish anyway. And wait, around page 202, that "Tenjou" girl; is that the angel they spoke of in the beginning? If it wasn't Sara-chan all along? Fuck it, I don't know, that was the most interesting part of this while crap-bag at least. |
