I'll try my hardest not to spoil this show. I'll also try to give you a reasonable, well debated and in depth analysis as to why this show is freaking AMAZING.
Story - 10
The story of a girl learning about the world of love and school life, one which she should've learnt a few years ago, is an underplayed plot. While not entirely unique, and not always pulled off with class, Kimi revives this concept with new breath. There's not much more to say other than it's like watching playground politics; 5 year olds learning about interaction for the first time.

an animation and artistic paradise.
The art style, pulled directly from the manga, in no way pulls from the true characters, nor the story. One of the few shows currently airing that's not trying to sell it's self by looking good, Kimi visually portrays each character as they're initially percived, allowing the story and developments to help the viewer see them in a different manner. Be it Yano-chi's gyaru lips or Chizu's delinquent eyes or Sawakos...looking like freaking Sadako. I adore this manner of portraying characters.
The color palet of Kimi is enchanting. The playfull coloring of the op animation, to the simple, light and fluffy colors of the show and the water colored ed help the audience reconise, almost instantly, what this show is. A light hearted romance, that is what it is, and dosn't try to be anything more.
Animation - 10
I tend so see art style and animation as two different things. But that dosn't mean the animation isn't equally as stunning. Currently, in anime, animation is becoming much more advanced. A little less recently, we experienced the delight which was ToraDora. Despite being two very different styles of romance, both anime showcase beautiful animation which fully brings out the emotions of the characters. To really show you this, I would have to sit with people and go through an episode, pausing and disecting. To explain it in words as best as I can, Kimi catches those small mannerisms down to the angle at which people lean when they're just standing there, chatting.
What I love just as much is that they don't take liberties with comedy scenes, which are just as beautifully smooth and carefully animated.
Sound - 10
Not a voice actor out of place, there's nothing unatural about these seiyuus. Given briefly, the famous much loved voice actors steal abosolutly no spotlight from the main characters. Everyone does a lovely job.
I adore the OP and ED songs, which are just as light and fluffy as the show.
Character - 10

I wont go into depth with Kazehaya or Sawako, rather, I'd like to present Kurumi as my case.
Kururmi is the most amazing character I've seen in a while. Without being bi-polar and all over the place, Kurumi represents the amazing development characters in Kimi under go. Starting confident but alone, thinking she didn't need friends, Kurumi soon reveals herself to be unable to change her path and brakes down, saying thing's she wouldn't want. She soon, although she wont admit it, begins to fully accept someone else as equal to her, Sawako. I have a blog written on her, if you wish to read further on Kurumi and why I adore her.
Enjoyment - 10
Kimi ni Todoke just leaves you smiling. Weather it be a small skit of Sawako learning something new and being over innocent or because everyone comes out alright at the end of an arc, Kimi is hard not to enjoy. For all those who need a brake from shows which force you to rethink everything, Kimi is for you. For all those looking for a good romance, Kimi is for you. For all those who want mecha, guns, fighting and testosterone, watch it anyway.
TL;DR, I love this show, I think you will too

CURRENTLY ON EP 5.
Alright. First off, let's get out of the way, the reason why I'm having trouble with this anime.
FOR THE LOVE OF PISS, SHAFT, LEARN HOW TO ANIMATE.
If it's one thing I love about the evolution of anime, is how natural animation is becoming. It began early with KyotoAni, who despite being money whores, animate like gods. Clannad was an animation masterpiece, where even the comedy felt natural, everything flowed. This was 2006, mind you. weird angles, small movements that just added to the over all picture. And most recently, Kimi ni Todoke, which took it's original style (from the manga) and added wonderful animation to make it a light hearted, lovely anime.
SHAFT JUST TOOK THIS AND MURDERED IT.
The constant zooming in and about the place as if it were a shitty matrix remake. The crappy mouth animation that dosn't fit the faces at all. The random hair blowing in the NON EXISTANT wind, for no apparently reason. SHAFT isn't being daringly artistic, no, they're just being stupid.
PLEASE, FIX THIS.
Onto the story. I don't hate it, I don't like it. I was looking foward to an intense political drama, from what I've heard of the manga. Instead, I was given a vauge remake (with shitty animation /shot) the seems to more be focused on a romance. So ok, I like romance stories. So I will hold my judgement on this until later episodes.
Character. Heck, I could watch this show blind and still know what was going on, the characters are so freaking bland and obvious. I know, I know, anime is not without cliche, but please. PLEASE. Do they have to be /this/ bad? I see little room for developtment/major growth. What I do see, is how this is going to end. However, I will hold out for suprises.
Art. Well, animation aside, the art annoyes me to. It seems rather messy, blotchy, and overly shiney, like a new comer to photoshop who hasn't ever been tutored, or heck, bothered to learn how to use color properly. Mina's hair is about the only thing in the anime I like, in terms of art. This, combined with the animation from hell, means I would probably enjoy watching this blind. However, I don't understand enough japanese to do so.
Overall, this anime has potentional, which it currently will probably never achieve. But y'know what? I'll see it through to the end. Damn it.

Hana to Akuma (or Flower and Devil, for those who prefer) dosn't stray much from the safty of a formulated manga. Having said this, I still like it. Not as much as many of my manga tops but it's very readble but I don't ache for the next chapter with my entire heart. Nor does it make me excited when the main romance is shown.
Story:
Fairly basic one character trying to belong where she does not and vice versa. There are many manga which have pulled this off admirably well, for instance Ouran Highshool Host Club and Special A, both manga/anime where a 'poor' girl is

thrown into a rich world (one slightly more belivable than the other, only slightly). Hana to Akuma however concerns the human and demon world. While this is a common mix, Hana to Akuma seems a bit too common. The ideas, themes, basic structure for the entire of the two worlds seems a little too basic, it's almost as if the writer/artist chose the two settings for the sake of custome, which there is no end to.
The plot also follows the basics of all shoujo manga that hits big, but not that big. The same 'steps' if you will. But what bothers me most is the length of these 'steps' or sagas. Some last up to only a chapter! I would except this sort of short lived sagas for fillers, jokes even, but even the most serious of eras finds it's self cut short by two chapters.
Art:
Basic, sometimes flat. Alot of the time the artist seems to have no idea of dimensions, nor do the characters faces match emotion. The eyes have hardly any emotion to them where there should be nothing but. I also found it hard as to where specific characters where aiming their speech at, unless directly facing the other with their full body.
Character:
Again, basic. Main girl is somewhat ditzy, new to love, hits all sorts of pitfalls that her stupid smile seems to get through, simeply because logic fails her. The main guy is cool, aloof and nearly perfect. Elenor is your local snob, I could go on but you get the idea. All formulated characters.
Overall, I enjoy hana to akuma but there are some blaring problems I just can't miss.

I realise that this anime is most likely to be turned down simply on the mediocre art and animation. A warning now. NEVER JUDGE AN ANIME LIKE THAT. Unless it effects the character or design, please, do not judge this anime that way.
Finding that Hetalia has been subbed is the highlight of my weeks. I re-watch episodes, laugh, smile and nod my head as each charactesr captures the true element of their country. Stereo types or not, there's a reason people see them like that.
I cannot help but enjoy what seems like basic and repetitive humor, so contriversal that Korea (the real country)

stepped into Japan and refused to allow it on t.v, hence it's webcast state.
The animation does not bother me as this is common of short-comedy anime. If you think of it as a spin-off or gag-manga/anime, the somewhat budget animation is common (for example SOS-dan). In a way, it helps you take this anime alot less seriously than you should.
Story. Oh hell, this is one of the most genious ideas since anime began. What better way to teach world history, than make a comedy-anime? It's like when teachers try to be cool, and your school funds those silly comics about sex-ed and fire safty. Only, this time Japan is quite happy to make a mockery of them selves and everyone else. Bless you, Japan.
But more seriously, of you do not understand who is who, I sugest you look up the characters here or wiki it because the one downfall is that the only real character-intro you get lasts about....5 minutes ofcourse.
More on character? 'Hetalia' is a mix of the japanese's word for 'useless' and Italy, because to be honest, they're not a strong country in war, but by far, a most beautiful and fun one. Just like poor, helpless Italy, each country brings to the forefront their experties, fun and their ever poked at stereo-types. America caught with hamburger in hand blabbers his idiotic ideas, charging full force with little care. Japan is quiet, cryptic and some-what submissive. England is loud, taking American for nothing but a fool. I could go on.
In my honest opinion, a perfect watch to balance up those darker, heavier animes and let your mind rest. Un-likely to be every lisenced you are welcome to take your time and endulge in the lovely humor and that catchy OP that comes at the end of the history-lesson for all ages that is Hetalia

A romance-comedy with a Kansai twist.
I was a bit late getting onto the Lovely Complex or LoveCom bandwagon but once on board I was there till the end! LoveCom had me laughing, crying while my heart trided to leap out of my chest. It was well balanced in light and heavy scenarios, high in good anime-nutritions, a must-see for the anime-fan diet! One I devoured in two days! (All 24 eps).
Story:
Every manga-ka tries to find their niche market. What do the romance-comedy fans want next? Dramatic pasts with dead characters? Forbidden loves? Deaths? Mahou-shoujo?

based off cer-ray-zeh ideas however, it does not make them worth while, nor more interesting. However, all my kudos goes to the original Manga-Kas, Nakahara and Aya, for using the simple idea of height complexes and creating one of the worlds best romance-comedies ever! In short, the LoveCom story is simple, sweet but one of the best ideas out there.
Art:
The art seems very simple at first glance but it is most effective. Not only does the style translate from the manga perfectly but it amazingly portrays the unique kansai humor that makes up half of LoveCom. It also well portrays the characters types which are so important in this anime about characters who have porblems with themselves. From the adorable Seiko to the tall (but model like) Risa.
Sound:
Could've done with some work. Personally I really didn't like the opening and ending themes although they did match the anime perfectly. Also, Seiko's voice was starting to make my ears bleed after five minutes. However, Risa and Otani's voice's were perfect and the background music for those heavy emotional scenes (mostly bad ones) was very effective.
Character:
This anime is built on the characters it portrays. The mix of strange and fairly normal teens (plus two teachers and some strange parents) is very effective. Each character bounces off another as they help one and other grow. Ofcourse, LoveCom is about love and complexes, and so every character doesn't go without their own little slice of problems and it's these that fuel the anime along, and these we grow to love.
Enjoyment:
I must say, while I tend to greatly enjoy romance of anysort (and the love-love in this anime stopped my heart a few times) the unique Kansai region humor really did me in. Word unique to Kansai (and Osaka) like 'Aho' rahter than 'Baka' made this anime stand out, and the comedy-duo acts, in the style of japanese comedy was something new and amazing to experience, even in animation! It is so difference to western humor (much like how british humor is generally different to american) and it kept me smiling all the way!
Overall, as you may be able to tell (10/10!!) I enjoyed this anime greatly, and so should many others. It reaches many aspects of life; love, self counsiousness, moving on and being true to what you feel. LoveCom is a romance-comedy for all anime fans. What are you waiting for? The All Hashin Kyojin are preforming just for you!

Shugo Chara! Stands out amoungst mahou shojou (magical girl) anime. While it appeases all aspects of mahou shoujo, girl with powers, transformations, roamance, 'cute' themes and such it also includes just that little something that stands out so much.
Story:
The basic theme of every episode is simple, beat the bad guys, cleanse some eggs, drabble in romance and the such. However, Shugo Chara! has an over all story which brings the main cahracter, Amu, to the brink of depression and the theme of becoming ones true self is interesting. on for years, the story is about the characters themselves, finding themselves and others. This is something that stands out for me.
Art:
The orignal style of Peach-Pit carries over to the anime. It's a sweet style that dosn't have the cliche 'my-eyes-are-twice-the-size-of-my-face'. The proportions are nice and the characters are cute, suiting the anime perfectly!
Sound:
I can't particully say I love the op's and ed's however they are fun. The voices are not ear splitting nor whining, it's very refreshing.
Character:
Amu is a character that impresses me alot. She isn't overly ditsy or loud. Instead she is character who eveyone thinks is cool and calm but is actually shy and cute. She reminds me of Ryuuji from ToraDora (looks like a deliquint but is actually quite kind). This is so rare in a magical girl it's also quite refreshing.
Another thing that amazes me is the love triangles. This developed to the point of a RPG game! While she could fall for the prince, Tadase, her relationship with the cliche boy seems so shallow and a much deeper understanding is shown between her and Ikuto. But you never know.
Enjoyment and overall:
I personally love this anime, it's a nice surprise and twist on the mahou shoujo genre that was much needed! Thankyou Peach-Pit!

As you can tell, I absolutly adore this series. It's a brillient cocktail of comedy and romance that kept me hanging out for every episode as they realeased.
Story:
The two stories in this run side by side amazingly. The mixture of a everday japanese girl or 'peasent' as she's so fondly reffered as, thrown into the world of the rich, glamourous and slightly air-headed. then there is the storesi of discovery and growth. As Tamaki and his mottley crew widen Haruhis world, Haruhi brings out the best and the worst in every charater, forging new and strange frontiers for each of the boys. The anime does

not wander too far from the manga (which is amazing in my humble opinion) but when it does, it does it with flair. The anime-only comedy could only be pulled off in this story and on T.V. Love it.
Art:
The manga-esque style of this romance-comedy reflects the over adorned host boys and prefectly portrays the romance and comedy.
Sound:
The background music of ouran is wonderful. Dainty tunes all over the place. Also, the voice acting is amazing.
Character:
Haruhi is one of the most amazing characters I've ever seen. She fits no cliche at all. She is not out going, shy,quite,kind,loud, or any of that. She does not sream and demand like haruhi suzumiya, nor does she squeal and trip over herself like Karin-chan. No, she is so normal and yet she grows the most and pushes the story along more than any character I've ever seen.
Enjoyment and overall:
10/10 all the way. Never ceased to amaze me. Never let me off the edge of my seat. I was squealing and crying and laughing all the same. I was enchanted just like the girls who visit their beloved hosts day to day. This anime is deffinatly a fine one.

I belive I'm the first one to give this a lower review.
I'm going to go through this bit by bit, please bear with me and do not give me any trouble if you're a fan, this is my right of speech.
Story:
At first I quite liked the story, it was easy to get into. However as it went on I think that the writer has one to many themes that are just way to smiliar to have in this type of story. Long lost family, family stituations in general, unriquited love (and lots of it), 'incest', almost yaoi. While this can sometimes mean a good story,

there are almost to many morals being portrayed at once and many lose their way. After a while it felt reptitive and I really just couldn't be bothered reading anymore.
Art and Charater:
I'm going to do these together because they really have backfired on eachother. The only character that stands out is the chairman to me. The rest all seem dark and gloomy and depressed. All of them have some deep past and aching heart. It's a love octagon or something. The art style dosn't help. Well the characters are 'pretty', they all have the same dull look in their eyes. The design in the faces is very un-devoloped and the only difference is again, in the chairman. This was very dissapointing
Enjoiment:
It may have been just me but I found this hard to enjoy when the sub stories and characters were all so similar. Again, this left me bored and dissapointed
Overall I think Vampire Knight is very very overrated, and I know I'm not the only one.

Haruhi Suzumiya. Where do I start?
Personnally I found myself very dissapointed. I started watching the series back mabey a year or so ago and at first, I thought is was good. So I bought the dvds and watch it again. Wow, I was wrong.
Story: Ok, what? Call me stupid but I really did not get the gist of it all until the second time around. I got the aliens, and the espers and all that, but on that sixth episode, they sorta lost me. I would have to say, too much talking. They talked so much and all told Kyon the same thing pretty much,
...
blah blah blah. And even after all that talking, there really was no point! They were there to observe her, yes I get it, just say it once.
Haruhi is hardly even part of anything. If anything, she just starts some plot every episode, yuki explains it and everything gets fixed. The filler episodes are more interesting than the first six!!
And people told me that this anime wasn't like all the rest.
I will agree that The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya is different from al the rest, and better than your average anime however, it's no big deal.
Characters:
Can you say Mary-sue?!I can.
Haruhi: the only worth while character to pay attention, and she hardly does anything except yell and kick kyon around.
Kyon: the only character that devolops at all. I'm serious.
Yuki: Mary-sue no.1. Can do anything, again, I'm serious. She's the cute megane character, who is an alien.Nothing phases her, and she can use 'alien magic' to change the weather, create planes, get home runs, ect.
Mikuru: Mary-sue no.2. large-breasted, maid-uniformed, squealing time traveler with pony tails and a happy-to-oblige attatuide. Jeez, these guys used all their imagination on this one. Did I meantion her bust?!
Itsuki: This guy is actually slightly original! Thumbs up! Itsuki is more of a catalyst character than anything (I think they're all supposed to be catalyst characters) but what he says, actually seems to matter. His personality seems quite passive, so he can fall into the background, espcially since he's a guy (and this anime is full with wide-eyed girls in short skirts) which is reather dissapointing.
Sound:
Good lord do I hate the voice actors for this anime. Haruhi borke my ears drums while Yuki was just TOO flat. Mikurus voice actor suited her perfectly,unfortunatly enough. I have to say, it leaves alot to be desired.
The opening song is ok, but nothing amazing, while the ending will almost only be famous for it's dnace. Did you know there are version of ALL THE GIRLS from the anime singing this? Even the ones you hardly know are there? Even kyons litter sister?! My my, isn't someone squeezing the franchiese for all it's worth?
The only good song you hear is God Knows. That's all I have to say about that.
Art:
I'm not sure if everyone knows this or not but the art (for the manga) was done by a hentai artist, and carried over into the anime in his style. This explains why they're all large eyed with tiny waists and hands in short skirts and maid uniforms. He also did the art for Shakugan no Shana but atleast in Shana, there are MALES.
Animation, is ok. Not bad I suppose.
Enjoyment:
Well, I will put this simply. I liked it now and then, and sometimes I would doze off. Monologs every episode are not ok.
Overall:
I can imagine that the original novels are much better but the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya leaves me in melancholy myself. I wouldn't heavily recomend this series, but it's good for perhapes, one watch. I personnally do not find it very amazingly interesting, and there are alot of people who agree, and plenty who dissagree. Either way, Haruhi dosn't quite get my vote.
