Better than Sunshine?

I have recently started watching Nijigasaki after finishing Sunshine, and I can definitely say that this is better because it has way more music, and it innovates from the regular Love Live plot. Also, (sunshine spoilers)

I think it's a good discussion topic, so feel free to share your opinion too, if you're gonna say a spoiler just make sure to use the spoiler tag.

as a former sifas player, I highly dislike the nijigasaki anime, especially when season 2 came out (still mad about how dirty they did shioriko along with a few other things I hated about season 2). but even without the bias I wouldn't say it's better than sunshine in any way.

I love Nijisaki, even more than School Idol Project. Shine plot was meh. Superstar was pretty good as well.

As a group, I have to give it to aquors, but as individuals/subgroups it would have to be Nijisaki.

It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines
and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it,
is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service.

Naaah. I mean, good for you if you enjoyed it, but for me Nigi is the weakest of the first trio (haven't seen Superstar yet). The original format from SIP and Sunshine is interesting, but somehow it just didn't appeal enought to me, not sure if it's cuz of its music or not enought investment in the characters (which is ironic, cuz Nijigasaki girls are unique and interesting, yet it still managed not to impress me)... tho I actually grow to like Sunshine after I rewatched it over time... but while rewatching NigiHigh I was enjoying it even less than the first time

Note: Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying Nijigasaki is better than Muse. I personally think both animes are very good in their own way.

@Lazulite If you already finished season 1 of Sunshine I recommend watching season 2 because it's definitely better. It fixed some of the mistakes that it had in season 1. Nijigasaki, as a spin-off, offers an innovative take at Love Live, and it's not related with the Muse anime or Sunshine.

But for Aqours, I do include their solo work into it, their plot is terrible, probably the weakest in all love live. In slightly opposite manner, Niji has fantastic plot, singing a tad weak.

Agreed, but only because Nijigasaki slightly edges out Sunshine as my favorite series. I don't mind that Sunshine has the same "save the school" plot as School Idol Project and references muse a lot in S1, but that may be because I haven't seen SIP yet, let alone seen it before Sunshine. In fact, I prefer the first seasons of the series I have seen (Sunshine, Nijigasaki, and Superstar) to their second seasons.

@Lazulite If you're stuck on it for so long, just drop it/put it on hold and watch something else. You can return to it at any time when you feel like it and then you might even enjoy it more than now when you're just struggling through it. Worked for me with 2nd season of Nijigasaki.

@Vhailor second that I can rewatch school idol project or sunshine any given day but nijigasaki after finishing season 1 didn't even had the haste to watch season 2 feel to awkward to be a love live.
